I've known about LDing for a year now! I need some questions answered.

And I've been a member of this site for about a year also! Around this time last year I became REALLY interested in obtaining a LD. I tried and tried and tried over and over again. Nothing ever happened. I think I might have gotten a little TOO into it. Like I would get nervous and anxious.....I would think about it too much.......now I have a question......this would probably slow down the process of LDing right?

The time period between now and then, there was school. And I couldn't find the time for any LDing, but I was still intrigued by it. And now that it's summer again next year I look back and I want to try again........only this time, I'm not so worried anymore......if it happens it happens if it doesn't it doesn't. Now would this be a good way to approach LDing? I think it would. The relaxed aproach seems more resonable to me also. Well thanks for all your help. OH! I was reading all my journal entries to dreams ONE YEAR AGO and I could remember each and every one of them VIVIDLY! I thought that was pretty freakin cool!

well ever since i discovered about LD on the 4th July 07 , i have been thinking about it non stop , constantly reading , try meditating and i managed to get 3 LD's so far , my first was extremely aware of my LD (high lucidity) and the last 2 which was last night i was in a low lucidity.

I dont think thinking about it to much will effect it , because i thought about it 24/7.

that is quite amazing reading your dream journal 1 yr ago and still remmber them.

      Congratulations TekkenDreams ^_^.

Yeah if you get really stressed about trying to get a LD that would hurt your chances of getting a LD. So if you take a relaxed, but energetic apporach to it you should do good. Good Luck!

if your stressed and anxious about LDing then it will be much harder to get one, as subconsiously LD's will become associated with those negative emotions and your subconsious mind will be less likely to bring it up. THINKING about LDing all the time wont hurt your chances though, infact it's the only way i get any at all, because its in my thoughts so often.

As Brandon said, keep the same level of enthusiasm, just shift the energy so that it is more positive oriented. Your subconscious will then see it as a priority and maybe that alone would trigger some, as opposed to now where your subconscious has linked LDs with negativity. It won't magically make you have a bunch of lucid dreams, but you may find that the results will be surprising if you just take a relaxed approach to it.

Y don't U channel this energy and passion into NOW...this moment instead of waiting till tonight when Ur in bed and sleepy and worried that U might not have one. U are dreaming NOW!...Do an RC to confirm that U are not..... I'm sure U'll get an LD the same night....

Maybe your stress levels are affecting your dreaming? I think if you forget about it for a while, the chance will increase. Also; it's probably best not to live from LD, no matter how cool they are - they're only dreams and aren't real.

I think, with the dream journal, I understand. Dream recall is ffected by practise, and so the best thing to do would be to train yourself up - somehow you stopped/lacked enthusiasm? I know, because I kept a dream journal a while back, but now don't have the time.

One thing I find helps though, is instead of writing dreams as a story, since that can take time and start clouding recall, is to write 'buzz-words'. For example, if you dream about walking down a path with oranges falling from the sky, write 'path, oranges' and then you'll remember, so you can write it up later =)

Also, my dream recall increases when I go back to bed the next night, due to context I presume. Maybe writing the journal in bed, or keeping it really near to the bed.

yeah it's better to be relaxed about it, but dont forget about it. It helps to be really thinking about it a lot, but not to the point where you get anxious or anything. good luck

Thank you for all your advice........although I still havn't had one yet......I won't quit. And I don't put this LD'ing thing at the center of attention in my life..........just a hobby I guess. Bud I do channel the stressful energy into possitive energy.
      Thanks to all. And Luna
