flying, but don't THINK I was lucid...........

      hi guys

well, that is the first flying dream that I am aware of in the last 8 years (since I had my succesful 2 LDs). The thing is, I don't think I was lucid, cos on the whole, things were as fuzzy as normally when I dream. There were lots of "signs" though. One was the building that I started from - I was aware that there was a room I could go to, it was magic or something, and I "thought" myself into the sky - I didn't physically travel from a to b, I was in the room, then I was in the sky. It was like there was a portal or something!

I'm so confused cos I have been linking flying with LDing, and assuming that as a child I was a LDer - but then perhaps not after all. The flying though - I had reason to get higher, or lower. Higher in order to stay in the air, but then found I was in the clouds. Now, this is where it is almost lucid (I think). I'm in the clouds now and it is so real - I can't see anything but white and grey, and I can feel the clouds too. They are almost wet. Then I want to go lower cos someone is chasing me (I think).

In order to fly - to lift myself higher (and this is just the same as my dreams as a kid) I have to THINK myself up - it's a conscious effort. So, I am to a certain extent in control, in the dream. I'm quite pleased about that.......... but it didn't feel lucid - not like the 2 actual lucid dreams I have had, and not like the 2 recent experiences of going lucid but only briefly and then waking up. When I woke up this morning my recall was no clearer than usual (has been with the LDs) and it didn't feel all that "special" - cos it was fairly fuzzy.

      What is going on???????

I had many dreams in which I defied gravity, but I wasnt lucid
I wasnt exactly flying, but levitating using some force... It was cool, but my mind tricked me into beliving it was normal

sounds like fun I did the levitating thing in my first ever lucid dream - I was floating down the pavement (about 3 feet off the ground) just to freak people out - they seemed quite in shock and I was just laughing my socks off

the flying last night was like the swimming-flying I used to dream-do as a child. It's like the air is water (although it doesn't feel like water, it feels like air) in that to get higher I have to push down with my arms.... it's so comical really

My lucid dreams, and I think everyone will say this, range from extremely fuzzy to highly vivid.
But, I always know when it is an LD. I will suddenly realize, wow this is a dream, and then take it from there.

Lowercase Society! It was less euphoric than when I did it in LDs........ More like I was carrying out some kind of mind exercise. I think it was me kind of practising for the real thing (if that makes any sense) - Seeker, that realization was missing, but I think I can't have been that far off!!

Vivid dreams.... they're so rare for me!! There's only a couple of times that a dream has been 100% vivid for me, I was not lucid, but I can remember my own train of thoughts, not just feeling like I was a passive observer when I try to remember my dreams. Its pretty cool to remember it that way because the things I thought and the events that happened because of that, my own associations and stuff that subconsiously affected the dreamworld was a revelation for me in understanding my own dreams

While lucid flying is one of the most satisfying feelings I get in a dream,I realise most of my flying is executed to escape a bad situation of what I think is reality.
