Has anyone tried/Does this method work?

I heard of this method. You get a recording or make on of someone saying "You are dreaming" or somthing of the like over and over again. The you listen to it while you sleep, the idea being, I assume, that you will hear it while you are dreaming and it will let you know you are dreaming. It sound like it might work. but it almost sound too simple, if it does work, I'm suprised I've never heard of it before. Is it possible that it works for some but not for others (like so many other methods)? Anyones imput would be great! I'm gonna try it tonight, so we'll see how that goes.
