      Hypnogogic Images(hi) Method Doesnt Work!

I went into a deep trance during a few nights ago and i felt my concious started shifting and bringing me closer to lucid and later on i started to reach
SP and i began to used Hypnogotic Imagery technique but after a while i find my eyelids opening up by themself! thus crushing my entire attempt to LD!

      Any help would be great!

      Thanks y'all.

I know. I have that too: My eyes opening by themselves. Also I sometimes toss and turn in bed alot. These things make it SEEM as if you're still very much awake and that it's impossible to fall asleep like that.

However I found out that, even though my eyes open up or I turn around alot, if I just continue relaxing I'll fall asleep anywayz usually dreaming with a high level of awareness. Don't think your attempt is ruïned: Keep pushing and hold on JUST a bit longer and you will dream.

By the way: Is that Avatar of yours a picture of you? If so; Mary me Such an extraordinairy beautyfull face

      Hey ska,
      thanks for replying..
Yeah...i posted this on different section 6 hours ago and got a few reply.

Most of the answer stated that i should keep breathing and if there's any distraction, lose it..and forget it.
I had to change my pyjamas 2 times because its was a really sunny day!

As soon as i fell asleep, i drift in sleep paralysis and i began noticing HI,
but this time...i tried to not really focus on it and let the images run by itself and that WORKS!

Hmm interresting. Only 2 times I actually stayed very aware during the Hypnagogic stage and experienced a bright white light and intense falling sensations. I was so close yet fell asleep unconscious afterall

How would you describe not really focussing on the Hypnagogic images, yet still stay aware enough and not fall unconscious?

Well it seems you're making some good progress. Keep me updated on your progress.

Do you do HIT when you go to sleep first, or do you wake up in the middle of the night to do it (Like in a WBTB)? I always thought about what you were supposed to do.

Sorry if this question is a bit offtopic.

You can do either. WILDs at the start of the night are very tough to learn. I can WILD at the start of the night, but I usually only do it when I am in the mood, because it takes a bit longer to generate and the dreams never last long.

WILD after waking up. It is easy as hell by comparison and the dreams last forever. There is really no reason to learn to WILD at the start of the night unless you want concentration training.
