      problems...

hope this isn't the wrong forum or category or anything, i'm new. well this is the night i found out about lucid dreaming and well i've tried it before without knowing what i was doing. well when i was dreaming(this was a long time ago like when i was 12) i saw something that made me think this is probably a dream and so i did something that would be bad in reality. so i found out that i was asleep and so a few seconds later i woke up without being able to do what i wanted it made me feel kinda sad but i didn't really know what i was missing until now. and so i never really tried to prove i was asleep i jus sometimes (like once a year) i'd know im asleep. so sometimes i'd be able to do what i wanted but a little time i got to do that stuff, i read about forcing the ability or whatever and i guess it was that, so can someone help me?
also i gotta add that it wasn't as clear as everyone says. it was like jus most of the middle of what i was looking at was clear. like on tv and stuff.

There are a ton of tutorials over in the tutorial section for people like you, who just need the basics and ask the same questions over and over again.

      Congratulations on being lucid.

      Hi dreamer_numero_uno, welcome to DV!!!

As far as being able to do things in your dream once you become lucid, well, you will get the chance to practice them. It's fun and (usually) not hard to learn things like flying in your dreams.

As far as the vividness of lucid dreams, well, they vary. I have had lucids that seemed more real than anything I had ever experienced in real life... everything was cleared, more crisp, and more vivid than it could ever be in my waking state. Most of the dreams for me however (lucid or non-lucid), are of regular vividness... that is, they seem as real as everything you're experiencing right now. Sight, touch, smell, hearing... tasting.

I will go ahead and say what anyone else would say to a fellow dreamer, the best advice: Start a dream journal. You will find that it will quickly and greatly improve your dream recall, as well as help you find some recurring dream signs that you may have.

Good luck on your journey! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions...

EDIT: here's the link for the Tutorials Section.
