I wouldn't ask just any DC, cause DC's tend to get mad when you tell them they're only a creation of your mind |
|
I had an idea: during a lucid, how about instructing a DC to be there in all your dreams and tell you that you are dreaming? |

That would be so nice if it would work. Better than a dream-sign that you don't recognize. You have to believe your DCs tho, and not argue with them. Most of them are idiots, yes, but some of them are something else. |
|
That could be a good idea, though wouldn't what you get them to do apply to just the one dream? I can't help but think it would be a little unlikely that they'd pop up and remind you you're dreaming in later dreams. |
|
Not so sure it would only apply to one dream. After all: don't some people have the same nightmare over and over, year after year? Don't some people have the same dreamsigns that keep coming back all the time? What if we could create our own dreamsigns? We could decide that a dreamsign is a DC who shouts "get lucid, you're dreaming!". |

I think this concept is called "LDILD" - Lucid Dream Induced Lucid Dream. Sounds paradoxical at first, but the general idea is to ask a DC to tell you you're dreaming next time you're asleep. I haven't heard any success stories, but it sounds like it's worth a try next time you're lucid. |
|
Well, I had several major lucids last night, during which I instructed a number of DCs to come to me in future dreams and tell me I'm dreaming. |

This does sound interesting, I believe it might work if you ask the right DC. Like Moonbeam said, most DCs are stupid, but some of mine are actually pretty smart. |

yeah i heard it was called a ldild like gnome said. Ive heard of lots of people talk about it, but i havent heard any success stories. I think its mostly placebo. but i dont know. I dont see enough DCs in my dreams for it to be effective anyway :p |

I've had precious little luck telling or ordering DCs to do anything. They tend to be much more cooperative when asked! |

Damn, I have to report absolute absence of results on this idea (which I nevertheless think was good and worth a try). I’ve been lucid on six nights in the last month and have talked repeatedly (and politely) to various DCs about telling me I’m dreaming in other dreams, or next time, or whatever. I have had no feedback from any of them. |

Why not send an email to yourself, telling you your dreaming? |

I think a month is too short; keep trying. It seems like my SC anyway is very slow for things related to dreaming to sink in. It took me like a year to remember to look at a DC's hands to see if they looked weird too (they didn't). |
