Talking My job helped me obtain lucidity.

Alright, hopefully I attracted a lot of people with the title . So I'm hoping you guys will read this and maybe give it a shot.

I was just hired at AT&T and we have been training all this week from 7:30AM-5:30PM. This is my FIRST job! This is very exciting for me and I've been trying to follow the rules at my job as close as possible. One of the rules is not to be late. They have a strict attendance policy. They have mentioned this to the new recruits over and over again.

^^That has to do with becoming lucid.

Anyways... I've been going to bed at around 10:00PM-11:00PM every single night and waking up at 6AM all week. I get ready, eat, pack my lunch, water my plant, and make sure everything is in order. It all takes about 30 minutes.

About 6:30AM I go back to bed always waking up to glance at the clock periodically (about every 10min).

What I'm getting at is that I have had more false awakenings and dreams than ever before this way. I have become lucid only once and it was very brief, because I had to get up and leave for work.

I know most of you will say,"Oh big deal it's only once. Whats that prove?" What it proves is that not just doing a WBTB induction is enough to get some people (me) a lucid dream, because I've been doing WBTB's every single day for the past 2-3 weeks and haven't had any LDs. Most of the time I'd just go unconscious and wake up and be like what the hell happened?

Knowing that I had to get up and be on time and leave at a specific time made me SO much more conscious while I was trying to get a nap in before I left. I only had one LD, because I just wasn't realizing in my dreams I was dreaming (DILDing). That's something I have to work on by doing more reality checks. My one LD that I had though was because I did a WILD.

The summary of all this is that if your not able to WILD/WBTB in the mornings. Maybe it's because you don't have that extra drive to make sure that you stay more conscious. In my case it was to leave at a certain time and not be tardy. It might be something totally different for you, but I just thought that I might mention this and maybe other people could branch off of this technique, whatever you'd like to call it, and get more ideas from it.

Hope you guys read all that I'm sorry it was long.

What you are doing is a lot of WBTB's in a short amount of time.

If you woke up at 5:00 AM and then set your alarm to wake you up at 6:00 AM and then set it again to wake you up at 7:00 AM etc. sounds like a method that could work for you.

But you are doing is is 6:00 AM 6:10 Am 6:20 AM 6:30 AM etc. doing many within quick succession.

It sure is a lot of them. Most of the time my WBTB's that I do when I don't have a time limit is just fall asleep and sleep till I wake up. Which only gives me one shot at lucidity. I would sometimes WBTB and sleep for hours never getting an LD and wasting my time.

Like this I get a lot more chances of becoming lucid and then once I become lucid I can stop myself from waking up if I know I have enough time before I have to go to work. (I should have tried this, this morning since I didn't have to go.)

      Hey there,

Well, thinking that you have to get up soon to be on time can certainly result in you sleeping less deep (and hence have an easier time becoming lucid). Additionally, so will your recent change in sleeping pattern, at least until your biorythme adjusts.

Additionally, as you'll often hear, you can practice certain dreamtechniques for weeks without succes, until the moment you 'let go' so to speak, and usually that's when the result will kick in.

But yes, finding some drive to stay conscious (or finding some way to sleep less deep), can certainly be helpful in getting more lucid dreams. Don't overdo it though, or in a few weeks you'll find yourself completely exhausted when you come work from home
