Waking up after realizing dream signs

      Hi all,
I started reading about LD about a month ago and am slowly working towards LDing. (I'm not overly concentrating efforts, though, since I have lots of other stuff to do in my life. So, I don't expect fast progresses or anything.)

Now for my problem: I am now sometimes able to realize I'm in a dream. For example, yesterday, I was on a carpark and 6 businessmen stood around a blue family car - I already thought, now this is strange - and said, lets get into the car. Then one after the other vanished into air.
Me: OK, I'm in a dream. -> boom, woke up. Same thing already twice before and in another dream tonight. Just when I realize I'm dreaming, I wake up.
Any suggestions or techniques to get around this?

      Thanks,
      -dvr

Probably where at the end of the REM period. If you got excited then you might of woken yourself up keeping emotions in check is always something that must be done when dreaming.

Another thing to try, if you are not in the end of the REM period, and you awoke in the middle of the dream time, then there is a good chance that you can get back into your dream. Try not to move after you wake up, keep your eyes closed, visualize the dream you just exited, and try to fall back asleep. There is a chance that you will fall right back into the dream, and be lucid from the start. For more information about this use the search feature for DEILD.
