The more and more I think about it ... the more and more I think that I've been lucid on more occasions than I recall.
[Actually ... I have experienced lucidity exactly once ... and this was about 8-9 years ago. That is, only once have I experienced "true" lucidity ... realized I was dreaming and managed to stay in the dream for about 10 seconds (of dream time) before losing it....]
However, I have been recalling more and more often a recurring type of dream that I have and am wondering if anybody has experienced anything similar. Please forgive me if this has been discussed before as I am new to the boards.
Almost every job I've ever had involved working with the public in one form or the other. I distinctly remember several dreams in which I was waiting on a "problem" patron/customer.... In every single instance that I can remember, I realize--at some point--"Oh, wait ... this is a dream.... I don't have to wait on this person ... I can just forget about it and go back to sleep...." That is how the dreams always end--with me basically just saying to myself: "OK ... dream ... never mind." I always go back into unconsciousness. The dreams never continue. I guess because I have no desire for them to.
Is this lucidity? Like I described ... as soon as I realize it is a dream I immediately just "go back to sleep." Would anyone else who has had similar dreams please share them? I feel like I've been cheating myself because--now that I look back on them--the dreams seem to (at least minimally) qualify as "lucid," yet I make no attempt to keep them going....
