      Actually becoming Lucid

Okay, I have been practicing for the past 3 nights recording my dreams, and I naturally wake up about 4 to record my dream for the night before, but every time after recording my dreams, I'm always going "oh I could've been lucid there, there and there" it's all so simple in theory but in practice it's hard to be conscious in your dream, I am gonna get this, i will be lucid, i'm just hoping someone can point me in a good direction to go :p

Don't get discouraged... you're still very new at this. Very few people get it in the first three nights, or even in the first couple of weeks. Keep up the journal, keep doing the RCs, and it'll happen sooner or later.

yeah when i first started it took me a while just to remember every one of my dreams. when i did, i spent about an hour or longer every morning recording them for a week. But then i began having lucids almost every day after that until i stopped writing them down due to time restraints.

so i think remembering ever single dream is a good goal. youll know because you will spend a good while until you have about 8-10 dreams to write down.

If you've managed to increase your recall significantly within 3 nights, I applaud you. It took me several months.

      As for tips...
      1. Keep doing RCs. You can't always be in the wrong place at the wrong time, something will click eventually.
      2. When you do WBTB, make sure you focus on Lucidity.
      3. Try Autosuggestion or MILD. That'll help alot.

My two cents is: read the tutorials on different techniques to become lucid - try as many as you can, and find the one that works for you most frequently, and keep doing it. Different things work for different people, find your favourite and develop it.

Something that I used to do (and I think I will start doing again) is highlighting in my dream journal different things that might have been dream signs. Weird things in dreams consist of 5 dream clues that help point out differences from waking reality. They are...

      - Action- unusual things someone does
      - Context- the place or people are strange
      - Form- Something transforms into a different shape or changes colors
      - Awareness-A peculiar thought, a strong emotion, an unusual sensation, or altered perceptions.
      - Cohesion- teleporting to a different location or a new dream with no transition

So: Come up with a different color highlighter and go through your dream journal and point this stuff out. This will help you discover your dreamsigns and can not only highly increase your dream recall but increase your chances for a DILD because you know what you are looking for.

You and me, both bud! Let's dream!
