      A little help with WILD?

I've been attempting WILD for the past 5 days straight. no sucess. I feel like I've gotton pretty far, I've experienced numbness, falling, sounds, and i've seen things. I also have experienced when your brain changes your thoughts.

However I haven't been able to get into a lucid dreamstate.

maybe its because all the times I've tried I haven't gone to sleep first and awoken 4-5 hours later?

any tips to help me futher my attempts? thank

I've been having this problem too. I've been rigorously trying to WILD all summer and I can never quite make it. I see HI, my body falls asleep, I can create noises, but I always end up moving my real body or falling asleep. There has to be something we're missing.
Who needs skill when you have luck?

I have pretty much started to practise WILD. I haven't had much succes yet, but I believe I will get to sleep paralysis if I keep practising.

However, could someone help us out? I want to know what to do incase I have similar problems in the future.

Are you guys all trying the wild after a WBTB?

You can't really have success in a WILD first thing before bed, because it takes your body so long to get to REM sleep where the dreams occur, you'll be laying there forever.....

But if you try after a WBTB, since you've already been sleeping for 3-4 hours, it's much much easier to enter REM sleep from a WILD.

Try Concentration Induced WILD here: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=30783 (scroll down).

You'll have to lay down, start counting (1, I'm dreaming... 2, I'm dreaming etc.), eventually you will relax (while counting), then hypnagogic imagery will start, then you'll go to sleep paralysis and then you're in a dream. It's as simple as that.

However, I have tried this and I can't quite concentrate because I'm too tired. Not that I fall asleep, I just get bored and give up. Too bad .

      Help has arived

Do you guys make sure your in your normal sleeping position? If you normally sleep on your side and your trying to wild on your back then of course going to move. As for falling back to sleep when your first wake up go to the bathroom and turn the light on or if reading dosen't put you to sleep do that for a minute or so. If your a fan of puzzles or models work on that for five or ten. Also just telll yourself that your not going to move when you feel the need to. sorry if I was no help but this is all I have.

So got closer to WILDing. I feel that if I can just get my body into full SP I can do it. I got my body pretty asleep by only my pinky's were completely numb and unmovable. Trying to move my pinky's did invoke some response but the rest of my body was awake so no go.

I know what you guys mean. Has been happening all summer. One interesting thing though, attempting WILD before giving up and falling sleep seems to make my normal dreams more vivid and memorable. Interesting, as I have gotten a few very close calls and brief moments of lucidity..

      will report back

Many problems that people have with WILD are related to the organization of thoughts and brain processes. You see, although a WILD or any other lucid dream type is the concept of mind- awake, body- asleep. However, do not take that literally, as I feel that many people make the mistake of doing. Your goal is to think as little as possible. The best way to achieve this is to passively concentrate on ONE thing, or concept, and that will distract the rest of your conscious mind into experiencing the "shift" in consciousness that is the dreamstate.
Over thinking will result in failure. Also, in my experience, trying to talk to yourself, and/or note to yourself what phase or stage of the WILD process you're in will result in failure. eg, "oh ok! sleep paralysis is starting...brilliant...ok then and ah yes the hypnagogic imagery!" No! Do not think! If you're using a specific technique, stick with it and do no more. Do not over analyze. Whether you just do a generic WILD or VILD, (I prefer the latter), or any other type of WILD, stick to it, and don't over think! That is why you fail my friends.

I am not Mr. High-and-Mighty myself, though. I continue to have my fair share of difficulties myself with WILDing. Too many bloody requirements to get em done if you ask me. I'll stick with DILD for now

Incidentally, thearrow, REM periods aren't the only time you dream. REM periods are perhaps the only GUARANTEED dream periods, but I dream during 10 minute naps all the time. Good luck and happy dreaming everyone

I just got sleep paralysis and vibrations after reading this post! I hadn't had it for a while. I read some of this post earlier, then went for an afternoon nap. I had a really vivid dream which was lucid in parts I think and I woke-up at some point and lay there and felt vibrations really quickly and heard my grandmothers voice talking really loudly about something (really random). I told myself to stay calm and it was just SP. I dunno what happened then, but I guess I just went into a dream. Strange for me as well as I can never usually remember my naps.

Still don't know how to stay lucid when I enter a dream though. I either just stay awake after vibrations, or enter into a non-lucid dream.

My advice is not to even attempt WILD without WBTB. It's just too hard for most people. Get up after 4 or 5 hours. Then when you're ready to go back to bed set your intention of staying awake while you fall asleep, get in your sleeping position, be still and don't move. Be preparred to lie there for up to 2 hours (took me that long once.) I like to concentrate on the darkness behind my closed eyelids. Eventually, you'll get HI. Don't think about it or get excited, just watch it. You may get SP, but I never do - I go right into the dream. If it doesn't work, just tell yourself no big deal you'll try again another night. Good luck.

I disagree. It is easy to do WILD without WBTB if you do it after going into a trance. (Relaxing, having imagery.) I often have hypnogogic imagery after 20 min of hypnosis in the middle of the day!
