      Numb

While WILD-ing my hands get numb, and it's like they are suspended in air. I just wanted to know if SP comes right after this feeling, because I have only been getting this sensation ever since I started.

Also when I am numb my hands, fingers, or legs sort of twitch and jump. Is that normal?

Im pretty sure that numbing feeling IS SP. And yes twitching is normal, I tend to do it a lot when Im in SP. However I can't tell you what happens next because Ive never actualy LD'd.

That's what throws me off. I feel the numbing sensation, but I can move anytime I want.

Thats probably becuase your not in a deep state of SP. Try focusing on clearing your mind. For instance, count backwards or look upwards. Breathe evenly and try not to focus on your body at all. Youll probably start feeling a sinking sensation and maybe start seeing Hallucinations but thats all normal. Another technique is to simply allow the darkness to wash over you, fall into it perhaps. Just imagine that you are going through layers of darkness, each time a blanket of it simply falls over your vision. The world will slowly grow darker and you more absorbed. You'll start to lose all feeling in your body entirely, but don't concentrate on it at all. Simply allow the darkness to continue. You may soon find it hard to breathe, but don't concentrate on it, think of counting and let your body take control of your breathing for you.

Thanks. I just have another question: When looking up do I keep doing it until I'm in SP, or do I do it until my dream starts?

Looking up is something that for some reason helps induce SP. I think it's becuase it keeps your eyes from flickering back and forth too much when can cause your brain to think that your too awake to get into a dream state. By looking up you can trick your brain into allowing your body to fall asleep. I personally find that I only need to look up for a few seconds--if at all. (But Im pretty good at naturally falling into SP). Basically just do it until you don't notice your body anymore. But when you don't, DONT try to notice it. And don't try to move. You can ruin tons of work by moving. I hope this helped!
