      New Japanese Device

      http://www.comcast.net/News/TECHNOLOGY//XM...3c25413891.html

"A Japanese toymaker says it has a new gadget that can help you do just that.

Tokyo-based Takara Co. says its "Dream Workshop" stand _ shaped like an oversized cellular phone dock and about 14 inches tall _ can be programmed to help sleepers choose what to dream."

Sounds pretty sweet for not too much money

Man... the Japanese are awesome. They can invent anything. If I was any better at learning their language I'd go over there and visit 'em!

I've heard about that thing. I am skeptical as to how well it works. =P

My theory on that is this.....

That the people who were tested, weren't lucid dreamers and weren't really involved with the dream world. I think if they tested people on this board, then the results would be much higher.

      Cuz we're the shit.
.......Then I think of my youth and of my first love-when the longing of desire was strong. Now I long only for my first longing. What is youth? A dream. What is love? The substance of a dream.

Yeah, they could give us each one to evaluate for free. Of course, they would all be shocked when you told them you used yours for gratuitus sex and violence

      Exactly.
I heard about that on our public radio station last week. I don't believe any aspect of lucidity comes into play does it? It is more like the power of suggestion.
It probably has subliminal messages in the form of:
You will give over your trade and commerce over to our country. You will send your jobs over seas. You will be at peace while our country takes yours over from the inside out!!!!

      yeah

      not to brag

but i have at least 2-4 lucid periods each week granted that i have a normal sleep and remember to talk to myself and tell myself that im going to have a lucid dream and say things like its so easy, im going to do it again

so im fairly certain a good chunk of attaining lucidity has to do with the power of suggestion and the ability for a person to believe it

my only problem is i have a good frequency but not a good length of lucidity
