      SP: Am I Close...?

      hey,
i've recently tried WILD a few times... the first couple of times i didnt clear my mind enough and went nowhere. the last couple of times after laying still an counting my breaths, i got to 450 and by this time my body felt heavier, i was twitching quite a bit, and i would get sort of waves of "buzz" starting in either my feet o0r hands.

i dont know where to go from here though... after about 20 mins i get all the feelings explained above and then it stops there... do i keep counting when i get here? maybe my mind isnt clear enough?

any thoughts would be much appreciated...

Well, what could be happening is that you take a little more time to go through the sleep stages. Don't worry though: I've already reached 700 without any signs of Sleep Paralysis.

The problem is not with keeping a clear mind: it is with keeping a relaxed mind. You should not focus on counting, but rather do it passively: actually you should not focus on anything related to your physical body. If you focus on anything physical, your mind will be too active, preventing you from falling asleep.

What I suggest is that you try to associate the first sensations you feel with experiences. If you feel, for example, like you're spinning, you can imagine you're inside a tornado. If you brign your attention to something else than your physical body, slowly your mind will forget it, leaving the door open for a lucid dream.

Guess that's it. If you have further questions, go ahead and ask

hey thanks for the reply... it was quite helpful.

another question: when attempting WILD is it ok to swallow? coz i get a build up of saliva and then have no option but to swallow or dribble all over myself which i dont particularly want to do... sorry if this is an ignorant question but i felt i had to clear it up. thanks

I say you shouldn't swalow at all. A good way to avoid dribbling is not eating for some time before sleep, not even water.

You should not move not because you have to, but because you feel so comfortable that you don't want to move.

      Best of luck
