It depends on the person man... have you ever LDed before?

Try the WILD and DILD techniques, those are the most common.

MILD and DILD are supposed to be pretty easy. DILD is really easy, basically it's just RC. There's other ways of DILDing but RCs are the most common.
As for how long... well it should be between a week to a month or two. It really varies depending on the person.

That's good to hear. That's how it started for me. You should be able to LD within a month or two then, assuming you will be doing RCs and practicing.

Basically, you need to start a dream journal, and do reality checks often in your waking life. Reality checks can be anything to make sure you are awake, like looking at your hands, or holding your nose and trying to breathe. If you are sleeping, your hands will look funny, and you will be able to breathe even when holding your nose.

The key is to get lucky one time and do a RC in a dream, then find out that your dreaming. You could also just recognize that you are dreaming because of something recurring, that you remember happening from writing in your dream journal.

Hate to break it to ya Tyler, but it's not about quick and easy. It's about dedication and motivation. Until you know that, it'll be tough to LD so good luck.
