Feel i am close to mastering technique. Need your help!

Last night instead of using the technique i normally use i thought i would try a different one which i thought would work well for me. I woke up in a rem interval, closed m eyes and stared into the blackness. My aim was to become alert as i am falling asleep, so hypnagogic imagery starts and i just observe the colours, images scenes etc the same as i normally do but this time i am constantly check my awareness. After a short while i am on this bus and i suddenly become aware, then i am back into staring into the black but i can see a dream scene in black and white and i can feel myself getting closer to it and there is a very powerful sensation running through my body. I follow this until the sensation disappears (at this point i think i am now dreaming) so i check if i am dreaming but i am not.

I tryed this again and i am in this park close to my old house and i become aware again, the sensation runs through my body, then i can see the black and white dream scene behind my eye lids so i follow it again but nothing happens. I try to visualise a scene, forcing entry to the scene but nothing worked, it was so frustrating because i could see the scene (it was a bedroom) but i couldn't enter.

Does anyone know what the next step is? This technique is similar to (HHIT) i just realised.

Also while i am doing this technique i keep repeating "i am dreaming" over and over.

I don't know which thread it was in, but I read that trying to force yourself into the dreamscene doesn't help. Just like watching HI passivly in a WILD, I think you just need to focus on the scene casually and wait to be sucked in, rather than being hasty.

Congratulations on the near success, I've never had much luck with WILDs.

Yeh i think trying too hard is what cost me the lucid. If i can sort out this last part i could ld at will with this technique possibly.

I will try again in about 5 hours and this time assuming i get as far as my first two attempts i won't try to force myself into the scene..

hey ld master? why/how do you keep checking whilst wilding? i thought for WILD all you had to do was maintain awareness. If you check too often wouldnt you just overfocus and not sleep?

im asking not to be critical; but im tryna find a good wild method where i don't wbtb for like 1 hour.

      Quality LD's: 16

Well it's not really wild, atleast i don't think it is. I keep checking because then it will become a habit going into sleep. If your mind wanders every minuteor so check if your dreaming. Well everytime i have used this method, which has been about 5 times the next time i have gone to sleep i have had at least one dild including 2 last night.

Here's what i do. The last few nights i have changed it a little.

      1) After waking after at least 3 hours i normally get up and go for a walk around the house to wake up my mind (not always but helps).

      2) I go back to bed close my eyes while repeating to myself i will realize i am dreaming with a few other affirmations like i will become lucid, i will have a lucid dream etc but the main affirmation is the first one.

      3) I let my mind wander but i keep checking about every 30 seconds to see if i am dreaming or not, and i find i am dreaming soon after.

Sleeping is so much more fun when you can lucid.

Just read in Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming that this is an actual form of Wild. You have to keep your mind active and every so often check your awareness and this will carry on to the dream state.
