Tecnique

I'm gonna try this now; going to sleep in 15 min.
I was gonna try a WBTB/WILD again, but this seems like it would be better for me. I've done something kind of like this, but it was in a random place I just thought up. Didn't work then, but this sounds like it might...

Here's a method I use to get myself to drift into a dream right after I wake up.
I try not to move myself when I wake up.
Every time you exhale you make your body a little bit more relaxed. Every time you breathe out you make your body a little bit more heavier. Untill you get a SP or drift right into a dream. Combining this with this method is 100% success for me.

No one seems to have that much trouble with visualisations, I'd think that'd be the hardest part, I know I posted awhile back saying my visualisation is totaly hopeless, but I think I found the problem, only thing you should focus on is where the visiouns are coming from, nothing else, don't ask how, just aim for that, and don't worry how it works, but you should find yourself in a diffrent mindset, I don't have to visualise familiar places, just make a big wide field of grass and sky, maybe stick a tree in it, and try visualising it from diffrent angles, incorporating movement helps alot, to keep an updated picture.

Instead of visualizing running around your house, I've recently found it easier by spinning around as you visualize your dream scenerio

Want to elaborate on the spinning method?

visualize a scenerio (front yard, backyard, drive way etc.) as you visualize being in that scenerio spin around and just look at everything around you as you would if you did this in real life

yeah, if you constantly move the picture it sharpens it, and it is important to feel as if you were there, and take in everything.

I just zoom through random narrow passageways and it becomes vivid pretty fast.

trust me you won't need to, it's like this you just visualise and it gets stronger and stronger and your walking around in it all of a sudden, I know, I did it once because I half lost track of what I was doing, wasn't a full conscious one, but I still didn't need to do an rc, I think your thinking of VILD (the non-wild method)

Wow. Lacking on the details much here? XD

I normally don't endorse threads that have "100% technique" in the title but I guess this could be an exception. Its a VILD utilizing familiar memories and experiences as the base for the incubation.

This means it doesn't have to be your house. Just any place that you are familiar with. Hell, once you get good at the visualization aspect you should be able to use anywhere.

I have alot of things I'd like to say but thats just because I'm a crazy VILD advocate. And as much as I hate (or perhaps love) to simply drop a link, you can read bout the nitty gritty VILDing stuff in in my tut. (link in sig)

Also, I disagree on the count that you are required to do this at WBTB time. Its a little easier, but most assuredly not a requirement.

EDIT: Bleh, looking through my VILD tut makes me almost want to throw up. I'm gonna do another major re-write sometime in the future. I didn't even mention familiar things being easier. Bleh. Why is writing a good tut so hard?

EDIT EDIT: after reading though the rest of the thread, this made me laugh.. XD

VILD can mean mean Visualization induced lucid dream or Visualization incubated lucid dream. It is a form of WILD where you enter the dream by visualizing. You just chose to VILD at home which is actually pretty genius for those who aren't very experienced at visualizing. This tech is a dictionary definition VILD.

I have had 2 lucid dreams by accident ever, one lasted maybe 1 minute, and the other (ironically my first) lasted a really long time and it was really awesome. I have been able to recall dreams pretty well. Usually some random event during the day will trigger memories of a dream I had the night before, or I remember them the minute I wake up.

Anyways, Last night I tried your method, because I haven't had a lucid dream in a few years and other methods weren't working well, because I cant ever pick up on dream signs. While laying in bed, i tried hard to imagine walking around my house and neighborhood. I had a pretty vivid dream, although it wasn't lucid. I will try again tonight, it seemed to have triggered something. Maybe I will have better luck this time

I just tried this technique this morning for the first time and to my amazement it worked! I was really doubtful but I had a brief awakening and so I thought I might give it a try. I tried to think about running thru my house, but for some reason I kept thinking about swimming in my pool, but I guess that it didn't matter because the next thing I remember was being in a dream. I thought about the technique and became lucid. Thank you! Hopefully I will have another BA tonight so I can try this again!

Hey everyone, I've been trying this for a few nights now... I've had some problems.

Ok, so I wake up fine, and I can visualize fine.... but after a couple seconds, I get this feeling of pressure on my chest. I know all about sleep paralysis so I'm completely fine with this, but its so distracting that it causes me to lose my mental image every time... I must have tried this about 5 or so times last night at least, and I couldn't do it.

Any thoughts?

Make up something to explain it. Put on something really tight in the dream like a bullet-proof vest. Or, a favorite that I have when face with really uncomfortable/itchy places. Imagine that you have a wound or similar in that area. You can even build upon that if you'd like to create a good dream scene. (an epic battle in which you got sliced)
