      Lucid Quirks

Are there any personal little rituals you do to to increase your chances of LDing?? I'm not talking about autosuggestion or dream scripting, but things lacking any kind of scientific or logical basis! ie. sleeping on only one side of the pillow, studying a treasured object, reading a specific quote

I myself have a bunch of little dream catcher key chains I bought at the dollar store and put in my room. The last thing I do before finally allowing myself to sleep is to touch the dream catcher (for good luck??? I really dont know). I sleep with it on the floor beside me

Hoping some more of you out there have some pre-lucid quirks, dont leave me hanging!

Maybe, just for a second, you'll be awestruck.
      ...do you feel it to?

I always post in the Goodnight Thread, does that count? Other than that, no, I don't have any stupid rituals

I always say a "prayer of protection".. if that counts as a quirk.

There's really no such thing as a 'stupid' ritual. Any ritual which you believe may somehow help you get more lucid dreams, even if you're aware that your belief makes no sense, has the potential to subconsciously help you have more.

Dreaming depends a lot on your expectations, so if you expect to have a lucid dream, no matter the method used to create this expectation, your chances will rise.

I worded that poorly, I mean the little things that make you different from other lucid dreamers, your personal charms or habits

Dream pants?! I've got to get me some of those =D

Sorry, I didn't mean to criticize your thread. I just wanted to reassure people that they shouldn't feel stupid about doing these things - if you think they help, they probably will.

Myself, I don't really have any odd things other than telling myself that I will have one before I go to bed.

Weird ritual? I must have something... maybe it's my attmeptive dream incubation? But that's not stupid, it's just habitual.

Just having finished eating some apples for meself. Having the appley taste in my mouth. My dream apple me calls 'em. I know a friend who has dream burritos. But that might just be the fact that they're microwave burritos.
Jen was 13 years old. A fairly normal girl. She spent a lot of time online.
One day, she made a new friend. He liked the same bands, worried about the same subjects.
They decided to meet at the local mall. She went. So did he.
Only he wasn't in junior high.
HE WAS A 1500 LB GRIZZLY BEAR.
1 in 5 children online get eaten by wild bears. And you didn't even know bears could type.

AMAZING! I need some of those, perhaps then I wouldn't become lucid from a WILD nude lol

Personally I don't think I do anything, as in a ritual.. I feel I am missing out now..

I've thought about playing music that reminds me of dreaming, but whenever I've tried, it just makes it harder to go to sleep.

Yeah, I had some great music that was down beat new age and was ready for it to send me into LD world.
I used it more to block out my wifes moving and night noises, but as you say it seems more of a distraction and takes me ages to get to sleep.
I am now trying earplugs and face mask. I use a cell phone on vibrate to wake me for WILD.

Y not use the music as a MILD. It hasn't worked for me but it may work for other people.... U listen to it...really connect the music with U doing an RC and becoming lucid, like a music video in Ur mind....U can also choose a nice place to do the video... Play it until when U turn the music off..the music video still plays in Ur mind then go to sleep.

I also have a MP3 of white noise and a guy calmly saying "Am I dreaming?", "Is this a dream?" and "The next time I am dreaming, I will realise that I am Dreaming" and i have it on a loop.
Anyone think playing that through the night will help.

No...tried it before. I have a similar one... But the mp3 interview from Coast To Coast did give me an LD once during WBTB but it was because the sentence " I will remember myself and realise I'm dreaming" kept looping in my mind even after I stopped listening to it.

Maybe I'll try listening to it once and turn it off.
Saves uncomfortable headphones etc and cords during the night.

I always write something on the back of my left hand before going to bed. It's usually my dream script, or a list of the things I have to do tomorrow. Tonight, it's symply "RC".

When I dream, I will sometimes look at my hands, and even if they appear normal (without extra fingers or stuff) I will usually remember what I wrote and become lucid.

Besides, it's fun when people try to read my hand during the day.
