Angry Techniques for "staying up late" people?

Hi.. I am having a huge dry spell. Last time I had a LD was months ago. Now nothing. The worst part is that I'm having free time. I can stay up as late as I want. Well, I've now accustomed to go to sleep around 4-5 AM and wake up in around 2 PM.

Can you recommend any techniques for someone like me? I've tried WBTB, but I either fall asleep after the alarm going off or cannot get to sleep. I have tried counting but it doesn't lead me to the mind awake/body asleep-state, just keeps me awake.

I want to LD, but no success!

Well a job might help lol--no hard feelings---i use to be alot like you..stay up until 7 am every night...but after getting a job its like i find myself going to bed at like 10pm....idk, you tend to work yourself to death and are tired by the end of the day...who knows, it might help your sleep pattern get back on track

you may find more help in here

although i don't know much in that regard

as far as i understand, consistency is the key to a good sleep pattern. if you are going to bed late...it might not matter, providing you go to bed at the same time and get up at a similar time. you also need 7/8 hours...and i would reconmend darkness obviously.

other than that, im not sure it should matter. When i fail wbtb, its because I'm not commited or motivated. just remember WHY you are trying to LD and it should you get up.

if its hard too get back to sleep you are staying up too long i'd say

Self hypnosis could help you change your sleep habits faster that other methods. ANd it's comfy.

Start getting to sleep a bit earlier every night.
Start doing an hour or so exercise in the afternoon.
Have a nice warm bath/shower an hour before bed.
Oh, and read when you get to bed. Especially fantasy novels. Tire out your eyes. I sleep very well when my eyes are really tired.
Also I use a couple of natural Valerian capsules if I am feeling awake and need to go to sleep.

If you really want to change, you should try this and the above suggestions.
      That should do the trick.

If you can't fall asleep after WBTB, then change the time you do the WBTB, possibly make it earlier, and go back to sleep sooner after waking.
If you can't get up after the alarm rings, then use several alarn clocks and spread them around the room.
About WILD: Sinse you can't WBTB yet, you have not tried WILD properly, because WILD should be attempted at WBTB.
In any case WILD takes a lot of practice, so don't get discouraged after a few failures, try different WILD techniques, not just the counting technique, but after you find a WILD technique that you feel comfortable with, practice it again and again, and move to another WILD technique only if it fails you after about 7 try's.

After you manage to do the WBTB, you can move on to learn the other techniques: MILD, DEILD, FILD, VILD etc.

      I hope this helps. :-כ

Okay, for WBTB, here's my secret to easy long lucids

      TYLENOL PM

If that's not available, any anti-nausea/drowsy making antihistamine will work

Oh yes, and self-hypnosis with strong trance is not only awesome, but it works for anything.

The problem with Tylenol PM (or Benedryl or any other sleep aid like that) is becoming dependant on them. I've been there. I've never had an LD on them though.

One other thing you could possibly try is DEILD. It worked for me within a few nights of trying, ending my last dry spell. Take a look at the tutorial and try it out.
