      Smarties!

      Yep, that's right: SMARTIES

As many of you probably know, in certain psychiatric cases, some people are not suffering from psychological conditions, but merely think they are.
So, some doctors give them 'medication' that will help the 'conditions of their abnormality cease'; it could be any kind of false illness a patient believes he/she is having...or suffering from.

      Now...apply this to lucid dreaming.

I've been around this site for a while...longer than my joined date states.
I have seen COUNTLESS threads created on some pretty weird herbs to induce lucid dreaming as well as normal herbs...
Now...i bet some of these lucid dreaming 'herbs' don't work worth shit, it is just the power of suggestion. We think we are helping out neurological functioning by pumping in pills...

You cannot try this to yourself because you will know that you are giving yourself false pills, but hear me out:

Try this with a friend, give him a false kind of pill, SOMETHING HARMLESS, such as allergy medication, or just go to the drug store and get something to releive itchy toenails, but make sure it is harmless.
Now, give it to them and tell them that it will increase REM or something, and see the effects.

The power of suggestion is a bigger power than we give it credit for, believe me.

If you need me to expand, please, ask!
      Cheers!

Yep. Thats part of what my handle is all about

This wouldn't always work I guess. I mean, I've heard lots of people saying 'I tried Melatonin and it didn't do anything to me'.
If it was that reliable... well... that would not happen

      A good point though

Word up, Lowercase Society, you ain't lying! The power of suggestion works on me constantly!

Once someone merely mentioned LD to me and I had one that night! But it wouldn't work a 2nd time. Oh well.

But the placebo effect is very strong. You should sell smarties to n00bies and tell them they're LD inducers.

The forum would make a fortune!

you would have to make the sugar pills, thats the only way you would be able to actually legally, sell them, and you cant sell em for alot, maybe, 1 $ per 10?

That's what I meant, smarties are candy. But I swear, I would NEVER take advantage of n00bies in such a way............often.

I think you need to change your avatar. I was too busy looking at it and those pictures to post correctly.
I meant to say inhancer > quite the opposite of inhibitor

I think it would be better as an INHIBITOR

Since it's called an inhibitor, it would be very ironic that it includes all the substances we use to induce dreams. The placebo effect would supposedly inhibit the user's dreams.

Well, I wouldn't say that I'm damn gullable. But, yeah, the power of suggestion works on me quite well. Like the example I gave about the LD. I don't know how gullable I would be with placebo drugs, though it's quite possible I would be!

I decided to keep it for safe keeping, but I think I'll put the minesweeper one on just because I'm getting tired of shockwave.
