      Reality Checks

Umm hey it's me... I've already asked a number of people this but I'm still not quite there! I need to know how often to reality check... That's pretty much it. Last night I had a recall of 7 long dreams... I find it a bit crazy how I didn't RC once!! In normal life I RC maybe twice a day... Is this enough??

Please post whatever you know that could help me... I'm going to study the heck out of the dream yoga thread!!

      Peace, Jamal

OK, I assume you are reality checking during the day in order to teach yourself to RC during your dreams?

That is only part of the process.

How many dream signs have you identified and do you reality check whenever you have one of these dream signs? That is crucial to your efforts.

Another thing you might try is to reality check everytime a certain event happens, such as walking through a doorway. Eventually, you will walk through a doorway in your dream and reality check.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Hey thanks... No one has ever suggested that yet...

One thing that annoys me is that I've been in the same location in at least one dream every night for about a month now... And I never notice I'm dreaming... And I have some pretty vivid dreams too! It's quite annoying.. I also have a bunch of dream signs which I never notice when they come up!

I think I'm going to try the doorway thing! Thanks a bunch seeker!!

Twice a day is definitely not enough. I reality check atleast 3 times an hour, although that might be a bit obsessive. Reality checking often isn't really the crucial part, more importantly you should constantly be looking out for odd things in real-life and do a reality check whenever you find one.

      Twice is not enough.
And to be in the same location in your dream, can help your process to becoming lucid immensely. (If said location is real).
Simply do a reality check whenever you are there.
Therefore, in the dream you will do one.

Also, Seeker mentioned the most common and one of the most effective methods, every time you walk through a door, check your reality.
Therefore, when you walk through a door in a dream. (Happens a lot).
You will do a reality check, and thus, become lucid.
      (I've RC'ed a maximum of 20 times a day, using a doorway).
(As dreams are usually an amalgamation of the days events and conversations, use this to your advantage).
Also, Lucid Dreams via RC's (DILD) can sometimes be scarce, so combine it with other methods if you can. (DEILD, MILD, etc...)

I used to reality check about 4 times an hour or whenever something slightly odd occurs like for example vehicle outside house that isn't normally there, strange tv program, something in your house you have never seen before, family membr acting strange or differently to how they normally act, electrical appliance suddenly stops working (happens alot in dreams).

Basically i used to question nearly everything and it payed off, it resulted in many many dilds. I rarely reality check now, only if i think i actually might be dreaming.
