Lightbulb Possibly new reality check that works well for me

As of late i have been (when not thinking about the subject of dreams) i have a flash of alertness i like to call it and pretend i have just realised i am dreaming. I do this numerous times throughout the day (sometimes) and when i am doing it consistently it brings great results, like the other day i done it several times and that night i had 4 lucid dreams (2 lasted seconds) and in three of them i become lucid through a flash of alertness (suddenly realised i was dreaming).

I'm not sure if this is a technique but i thought i would post it and see what you think.

What is a flash of alertness?
Do you mean this during the day?

A flash of alertness is when you have a brief moment of awareness (b6 is supposed to give you this 6 hours after taking it). Yes i mean during the day. If you do this regular it might start to pass over into the dream world, it probably i either works for you or doesn't like reality checks.

ld master, I've never heard of taking b6 so that you will have a flash of alertness 6 hours after taking it. Is this written somewhere? I've sometimes taken b6 at bedtime but since I get up early that might explain why my dream recall doesn't seem any better when I do. I'd love to read more about this.

I read this on a website a couple of years back. I then noticed that on numerous occasions i would have a lucid dream becoming lucid for no apparent reason like a sudden awareness, and then after i woke up i would check how long i had been sleeping and very often it would be around 6 hours (a bit longer because of the lucid). Afew months later i was talking about the "flash of alertness" on a b6 thread and i wanted to copy and paste the website on here but i can't find it anywhere, and if i type in flash of alertness on google nothing comes up.

Perhaps whoever typed it made up the term maybe and the reason i kept becominglucid after 6 hours was because of te placebo effect. I am going to try to find that site again.

I think I know what you mean about a "flash of alertness". Is it just like you suddenly realize it is a dream for no reason (without a dream sign or something odd, you just all of a sudden realize it)? So throughout the day you just all of a sudden do this and then you might do it in a dream?

Yes thats what i mean by "flash of alertness". Yes i do this thoughout the day as much as possible and it should pass over to your dreams.

      It does for me anyway.

I know what youre talking about, man. I just had one of these flashes like 20 minutes ago. It's like you suddenly become hpyer sensitive to your situation.
most of the day youre not thinking about whats happening 'now'. its what just happened, whats going to happen etc... sometimes i get a flash of the 'now'. like, ive been sitting there watching TV for an hour, and I get a 'flash' that suddenly puts it into perspective.
Its a hard thing to explain, but im pretty sure I know what youre talking about.

seems like it could definitely be applicable to lucid dreaming.
      good post.

You're right it is hard to explain, and i think you understand. Most of the day you are not thinking about whats happening then allof a sudden you become aware. I do this several times in waking hours and it is producing many lucid dreams (almost every night) without me having to use my technique.

I have searched everywhere for flash if alertness on google but nothing comes up. I am sure that i read about flash of alertness? Perhaps i just made it up.

Does the flash of alertness just happen, or can you just become super-aware by yourself?

      DILD(s) = 3

Third one was really short and unstable

      I don't what you mean?

You get into the habit of doing them in reality and they should pass over to the dream state.

Don't know if i answered your question.

he is saying basically that it works the best for him. ..there's a reality check where you pull your finger throughout the day in hopes of doing that exact same thing in a dream and developing lucidity. ..I've tried this but I felt no connection to it. . .an overall sense that I was doing it just to keep doing it. ..I had no faith in it. . .than I moved onto the method where I would just look at everything as a dream. . .every single thing. ..this method is currently giving me more benefits than the latter. ..everybody has their own methods. ..he just felt like sharing it. ..mylucid, I will be trying this method and I'll come back to tell you my experiences with it. .thank you.
