I dont know too much about VILD but I remember a few things I read that may help

1) either. Some people make a scene and WILD with it. other people will 'incubate it' and fall asleep and hope that they 'dream about the scene'. Id say if you are a beginner you should try falling alseep with it on your mind, not WILDING.

2) if you WILD with your scene...Id say definately WBTB. However, if you wish to 'fall asleep' with it in your mind then either CAN work. HOWEVER, WBTB WILL BE MORE SUCCESFUL

3) a number of ways...
my favourite is I get my mobile fone...and use the alarm on that. The fact you have to look at a bright screen to turn it off helps you concentrate.

and if it vibrates put it in your pillow. you will have to find it and that wakes you up.

OR...some people like putting there alarm on the other side of the room. ie you have to get up to turn it off

thats it for my personal tips. I find, the days that I turn my alarm off and go back to sleep are days Im a) not motivated enough or b) too tired from the week

4) Im pretty sure it works because your VILD scene integrates a reality check. If you keep 'playing' your dream over and over and over again. then hopefully, you will dream about the scene and because it involves a reality check...BAM! Lucid!

5) if you have decided you want to use your hands for RCs...try this
1.look at your hands
2. try to count your fingers (sometimes you will have extras....or they will be too 'blurry' to count)
3. try to poke a finger through your other hand
4. think to yourself "could this really be a dream???"

I use a digital watch for my RCs. If you have one, I reconmend those...but WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE its important that you REALLY THINK IF YOU COULD BE DREAMING. if you just say 'just practiscing' or 'I know im not dreaming, Im just testing'...then you are dooming yourself to failure.

hope this helps, sorry If i missed something!
