Exclamation I tried WILD last night and I...

...Failed! NOW, usually I would just give up and not try WILD any more, BUT...I think I should try again, but now with input from WILDERS.... Here is what happened. I tried when I was 1st going to sleep, so I had no sleep before that. I did the reversed blinking tech, while counting each breath. I counted up to around 300 breaths, then I suddenly felt a certain sensation...lets see...how to explain it...Well, I felt as if I was being lifted from the ground if thats a good way to put it? And that got me excited, because I was thinking, "Hey! Maybe I'm actually gonna succeed!". So my heart started to race a bit. I eventually passed out... and woke up about 5 hours later to try again, but I just stayed in bed, and I can't even remember what happened. I'm sure that it was a failure. INPUT! Any help please! Thanks

Yeah, that's gotta be the hardest part to not think, when it's starting... Just concentrate on the breathing. :]

You mean that sensation was me about to be thrust into a lucid dream? Huh?

No, it was probably the start of SP.

Did you feel any numbing sensations before this, or was that the first? If you had hung in there with no thought, you would of eventually hit SP, you were on the right track.

I still need to work on my WILDs, because I can't keep an open mind when the sensations of relaxation start to fade into SP, I automatically become more awake, I don't know how people can ignore them.

I usually have like two "phases" before I enter sleep paralysis, I first start feeling like if I am floating, then after a while, I stop feeling my limbs, I once tried to move them while in this "phase" and it was like if they were extremely heavy, then after a while, I enter full SP and start dreaming, it's pretty weird.

You were on the right track.

So really all I really need to do next time (which will be tonight) is wait it out? Try to keep calm? I know I was close.

You were on the right track, but you may or may not have been close. Starting to feel the numbing is just the very beginning of your body entering a deeper state of relaxation. You will realize it once you get farther in, that it feels much different then that... it gets stronger, I guess you could say.

However, it all varies from person to person. You might be able to get through to Sleep Paralysis very quickly, or it may take you a bit longer, but as long as you wait it out, you'll get there eventually
