I'm having trouble clearing my head at night

For a couple weeks now I've had no luck with LDs. My mind's been much to restless when I go to sleep. I can't focus on counting or an image of myself walking down stairs. In addition my dreams have been very choppy like flashes of random stock footage mixed with incoherent thoughts.

What should I do to have a more relaxed mind when I go to sleep.

      What is it specifically?

Do you have a lot on your mind, are you thinking about what to do the next day because of work/school - what specifically is on your mind?

If it is the next days tasks ect you could try writing down before you go to sleep, things on your mind, to relax yourself that you will not forget them, and they will be there in the morning for you to pick up again?

Usually the past is more of a problem then the future. I tend to play over things from the previous days and weeks in an extremely swift and repetitive fashion. Most of the time I'm focused on arguments and confrontations and things I hadn't thought to say but I wish I had.
