      My 'almost' lucid...

Umm... well, one day I was awakened early (for me) at around 9am.

I basically was awakened because there was someone on the phone for me, and when I was done I just laid down on the couch thinking it was the perfect opportunity to get a lucid dream.

I was sitting there for what seemed like forever, and then I got the SP and vibrations. I've gotten to this many times before, but as I'll explain, I never get fully out.

So I'm having vibrations that course through my whole body. I feels as though I'm submersed in something that is vibrating. It is truly intense. Anyways... it keeps coming and going. I realize that it comes and goes depending on whether or not I focus on them.

So I decide to not focus on them and they come back. I then imagine that I'm floating upwards, and to my surprise my head and torso begin to move up by themselves. My eyes are still closed at this point, and I was afraid to open them lest it spoil the whole thing.

Well, I begin to doubt that I'm out of my body at that point... I'm thinking(maybe I actually moved my 'physical' self up, and that is all I'm feeling) and then decide to test it by allowing myself back down and trying to exit again.

So my head lands all the way back down, and I actually 'feel' the pillow beneath my head as I contact it again. The weird thing, and the thing that proved to me that I was actually getting out, was that I didn't feel a gradual increase in pressure on the pillow. When my head got all the way down, I was just feeling the pillow again.

To my disappointment though, it seems that I had wasted the vibrations, as when my head contacted the pillow again, they had disappeared. They wouldn't come back either.

So my question is... was I doing it the right way? If I had continued to lift myself completely out, would I actually have entered a lucid dream? And... did lowering myself back down(to test my suspicion) ruin the chances of going lucid? Also... should I do anything differently or maybe do something that I wasn't to increase the chances that this will lead to lucidity?

I guess I found out how to WILD a few days ago. I got to the same point in my last post, but I allowed the SP to come and go a few times.

I noticed that with each time the SP went, I felt further from my real body. It was an eerie feeling, but I forced myself to remain calm.

After awhile, it felt as though I was laying on the ground underneath my bed. This is when I started getting extremely bright flashes of scenery. I then just opened my eyes.

When I opened them I was in my house, but a version of it like 5 years ago. What I couldn't get over is how much clearer and more vivid a WILD is compared to a DILD.

I mean, I've had a few DILDs before, but never a WILD. This blew me away. I actually just spent the first (what felt like) 5 minutes just going around feeling things with my hands. It felt so real that it was creepy.

And also, the hazy look that a DILD usually has for me wasn't there. My vision was just as perfect as in normal life. This was another plus for WILDs.

I eventually wandered out to the backyard so that I could try flying. I ended up being able to fly upwards, but my body started tilting sideways as I was still going straight up. It was like my balance got all screwed up.

So I just let myself fall back down(which I imagined wouldn't hurt, so I'm thinking that's why it didn't), and landed in the front yard.

There were some people... and unfortunately they somehow convinced my dream-self that it wasn't a dream and I drifted off into non-lucidity. Uhg...

The whole experience lasted what felt like 10 minutes... which made it my longest lucid dream ever.
