      Music induced lucid dreams

I've been trying to make an induction technique thats works and this one does! t's been tred on some friends (who don't LD and it still worked) Here's how you do it:

      1. Find a walkman and a cd, this cd must have a song that you really like (or hate) so you notice it later on (Prefrably you should choose a song that you asociate with a dream sign). Put them by your bed.

      2. Set your alarm to 5 and go to sleep.

      3. When your alarm goes off write down your dream then listen to the song. (I find it helps if you use earphones as opposed to loud speakers, I don't know why this is though)

      4. After the song has finished, go to sleep.

      5. In your dream you will hear the song and see the dream sgn you acociate it with, one you hear it/see it, you should become lucid.

Right, like I said, this works for me and friens, so I tought I should post it here to see if any of you guy's have any sucess. Please comment on this.

I don't understand how this would work.

In your dream you will hear the song and see the dream sign you acociate it with[/b]
WHat do you mean a dream sign that you accociate with it? I'm totally confused as to how this would help.

Um so you just listen to the song and turn it off and go to bed? The reason that kind of confuses me is because.. you usually hear people telling you to play music during sleep. I am very skeptical that I'll dream about that song just because I heard it.. eh.. lol

But I'll definitely try it! *writes down on hand*

Edit: Oh, and do you have to tell yourself before hand "When I hear this in my dream, I'll know I'm dreaming..." or does it happen automatically for you?

This reminds of a MILD, only instead of telling yourself to recognize a dreamsing, your telling yourself to recongize a song.

I'm not sure if I'll hear the same song in my dream, but it's defintely a good idea. I'm glad you've found a way that works for you

      Music

Hm, definately an interesting procedure. I've only tried listening to music while i sleep, with very limited success. I've attempted WILD's with music, but maintaining the concentration needed was way to hard. So i'll definately give this a shot and post tomorrow.

Hey, it sounds like a good way to keep your brain running while your bodie's sleeping, I've heard of similar techniques although not this exact thing. I'll have to give it a try. Reflecting on the lyrics or playing the entire song, insturments and everything in your head should help, especially if its an 18 minute long song like " The Decline" . ( God I love you NoFx...)

Okay, let me explain the dreamsign bit. I only said ths because with me, I use the 5,6,7,8's song WOOHOO! This was from Kill Bill, Uma Thermin played the main character, she is my dreamsign. Do you get it? Or say you have I don't know... Justin Timberlake as a dream sign, listen to some of his music. Also With the music/dreamsign apering in a dream, it can be in any form. Sometimes it is that group putting on a gig, sometimes it is only someone mentioning the song, which s hard to pick up on somtimes. Last night I didn't go lucid because someone was only humming the song at my school (which happens all the time at my school because they all like it for some reason). So it may me an idea to vary the songs you use. I'm going to try a different song tonight. Also on a sidenote, a friend who was trying this used Nelly Furtatdo "I'm like a bird" In his dream, his English teacher sat him down for a serious conversation and indsted of talking about his grades, the teacher started to reside the lyrics in the style of a conversation. Also it can be an idea to focus on a certain part, for example, I have tried just focusing on the drums, drempt that I was playing it on the drums, realised that in real life I can't play them and gone lucid.

Mmmmm My mobile phone is a dream sign so I guess I'll have to sit and listen to the ringtone for a few minutes. Might drive me mad first.

I hate people with 'take me out to the ballgame' and other stupid ringtones, "I do it so I will know when its mine!" , now I am saying that in the Bill Engvall voice when hes talking about cliping out cupons and is making really funny voices

The cd name is 'Heres your sign' or something like that.

      ...yeah

Anyway I tried this with 'Welcome to Paradise' by Greenday. I woke up at 6 30, listened, had a trip to the bathroom then went to sleep. I didn't notice the song in my dream, but I did have a dream about a wonderful, peaceful magic place. When I woke up, I was thinking to myself 'paradise...'

Yeah, I've been finding this the last few times, I woke up twice last night and tried two different songs, I decided to use the most random two that I could find. Firstly I tried that Kung Fu fighting song and I drempt that two of my friends were wearing Kung Fu uniforms. The second one, I tried the Angel by the Chors. I drempt that I moved to Australia and lived in a boat called the angel. This is one of the effects of this technique, acosiation. Maybe you should try to think about nothing but the song while you try to go to sleep

Maybe try and find a song with no lyrics that you have not read the name of, possibly by randomly downloading off the internet or something. That way there will be no chance for your mind to 'word associate' with elements of the song. All that you will be thinking of is a melody that may show up in your dream. Just a thought.

That's a good idea, I can't think of any websites to do this with right now, but I'll try it in a few nights ecause I'm currently trying to overcome this problem in different ways.

Well you can get those crappy wav files on the net. Remakes of songs with no lyrics, but you can tell which songs they are.

Yeah I use music to help me induce WILD's. But like I have been telling every one, once I get to a cirtain point I freak! But I can see how music would help out. It almost relaxes you a bit more! I find if you put one song on repeat so you don't lose concentration when trying to sleep helps aswell! Hope this helps!

Maybe some classical music. A lot of that has no lyrics and I'll be darned if I know the names of any of them........... Beethovans 1st symphony etc etc etc. Some calssical can be easily recognised like the stuff they use in commercials. Might be useful.

The most common style of music used for meditation is from the Baroque period, not classical. This is stuff like Bach, and.... some other guys.
