What I do is autosuggestion... "I'm going to sleep and i'm going to realise i'm dreaming" I've had no real insomniac problems since I took on trying to have an LD, really.

Calm your mind...think of nothing...find a very comfortable position...breath deeply but meaningfully towards the thought of sleep....again, think of nothing....don't let thoughts or stress intrude on your quest for a good nights sleep. Alot of times...a person can experience a viscious circle...for example..."i can't sleep and it's troubling me...therefore the stress of the thought that i can't sleep keeps compounding and keeping me awake.......don't let this circular stress happen....!" Control your brain...don't let it control you! Calm down and refer to the first part of this post...and don't drink any caffeine before bed!

Really? When I think about going to sleep and dreaming, I can't seem to go to sleep at all

My best advice would be as mentioned above to be in a comfortable position, and think of nothing, just trying to relax. Maybe drink some warm milk or tea before you go to bed.

We agree of the forementioned process to falling asleep...but DON'T DRINK ANY TEA!!....tea is LOADED with caffeine. Warm milk is supposed to be good though.

Really? Tea is loaded with coffeine? Sorry, I didn't know .. I've always felt more relaxed after a cup of tea.. Well, skip the tea and use warm milk then

If you really really can't sleep, there's some pills which can be bought that'll make you sleep.

Not all tea is loaded with caffiene. I reccomend getting catnip and making tea with it. You could use a cofee filter folded up, if you don't have any way to make tea. Catnip is know to relax and calm the nerves in people. Quite the opposite effect for cats :yumdumdoodledum:

Try some meditation type stuff. For instance if you’re feeling very awake and you mind is active try closing your eyes and imagining a complex scene in fine detail while relaxing the body and slowing breathing. After about 10mins your mind will be tired out from thinking about the scene and your body will be relaxed then you can just roll over and go to sleep.

Yeah Don't take sleeping pills just yet. This sleep problem will prolly just pass on its own as you get older. You don't wanna become dependent on something you won't even need later on.

Turkeh, that's good! Tire out the brain.

Insomnia is common when going through your young and your body is changin. Cause all these horomonses keep you up at night. I went throught that, but now I sleep like a baby.

wish i slept like a little baby the only way that i get tired enough to be able to fall asleep in under 10 minutes is by staying up all night, which sorta kills it cuz the stupid sun comes up. But ya i think ill be able to have a lucid dream soon, if i just continue to follow all the exercies in Laberges book ( If you have nt you should buy it)

I find sometimes I can't get to sleep when I have a lot on my mind... "oh yeah, I need to do this tomorrow... and that... and I can't forget that..." I heard somewhere it's a good idea to make a to-do list to help get it off your mind.
