      My WILD Attempts

I am trying to WILD but am having trouble. If someone will read what I have done and give some tips, I would greatly appreciate it! I posted some of this in my introductory thread, but I decided to bring it here where it may get noticed better.

I first started by trying right before going to sleep. I would do the 61 point relaxation technique, then focus on my breaths while counting "1 I'm dreaming, 2 I'm dreaming.." with numbers on the inhale and I'm dreaming" on the exhale.

After the first 2-3 times, I stopped using the 61 point relaxation technique, because the breathing seemed to be what worked.

The results I got seemed to be good. First I would feel slight numbness, except for blood flow to certain areas. Then, I would feel like like my whole being was in my head, and lose the feeling in the rest of my body. The first 3-4 times, this was accompanied by an extreme increase of heart rate (which cause me to stop trying twice, because it literally felt like 3-4 very strong beats per second), but I don't get the increased heart rate anymore. After the numbing though, I get nothing. Once or twice, I think I saw some HI for a few moments, and other times my eyes flicked back and forth for a few seconds, but nothing else happened afterwards. The strange thing is, I usually have trouble clearing my head after this point, but do fine beforehand. Also, recently I haven't even been able to feel the full numbing either. If anybody could give tips or tell me how far I am, that would be very helpful!

      ADDED:
Just last night, I did pretty good again, which gave me a big boost in my confidence about my attempts. I got just about all of the sensations I had in past attempts, including increased heart rate (but no where near as intense as the first few times), numbness, blood flow, and had HI for much longer. The HI didn't form into anything and eventually faded.

Any ideas or tips are welcome!

      Lucid Goals:
      1. Successfully WILD
      2. Increase lucidity, clarity, control, etc.
      3. Change locations/teleport

Yeah this is almost exactly how my wilds seem to go.

I start feeling numb, although its only my hands, nothing else.
My heart rate starts increasing and it feels like my head is pulsating.
I try to control my breaths while this is going on, but it seems to go away
      and then nothing happens afterwards.

I don't know if the fact im thinking about my breaths is breaking my concentration or if this feeling is supposed to wear off, and you keep going past it.

WILD's work best after you've slept for a few hours. (5 hours or so seems to work). I've had an identical experience when trying to WILD before sleeping at all. My only successful WILD was in the middle of the night. It was a much difference experience.

you seem to be doing pretty good ender But like Phalangees said, WILDs work best after you have slept a few hours. So try doing that. Having a steady sleep schedual helps lots too.

Be aware that using Wild you can have scary nightmares. It's frightening for newbies.

I got rid of every nightmare I had so Wild is easy.

Oh well, nightmares aren't real and they end eventually. You just said yourself that you got rid of them. I think WILD will work very well for me if I get the hang of it.

Ender: My friend, you're right that they aren't real and remember you are stronger than any nightmare could ever be! Sometimes they try to attack you by a trickery, in false awakenings, when you can possibly be weak but if you are strong enough they vanish. Take care.

I have the same problem, only I have tried it with WBTB. It still doesn't work, the same thing happens.

      Any ideas why?

ummm a little more detail please? Keep in mind that WILD is the hardest technique to lucid dream. Its going to take time to learn.

Well, I perform a WBTB for about 5 minutes (which is good for me), I relax in my bed, and start to count. Eventually the vibrations and numbness come, but they just fade away. At that point I try to RC but I'm awake. Another thing is I don't reach SP.

Yeah i get that, might be when you start feeling it, you get excited too much and lose your concentration.
