      Was I lucid?

Ok so last night I'm almost positive I went lucid. I started out the dream and everything was blurry so I did a spin and rubbed my hands and everything went clear. Once I realized I was dreaming I walked around for a bit and visited my dream world. I decided to do what I always wanted to do, fly. I started flying but my dream soon ended and I just went back into regular sleep. So my question is "Is it possible that I was just dreaming that I became lucid or do you think I actually became lucid because it wasn't the most vivid thing ever but I still remember it?"

I can't see how this could NOT be a lucid dream...

      Congratulations.

cl0se-y0ur-eyes, it sounds like you were lucid to me as well!

Lucid dreaming is merely the "awareness" that you are dreaming WHILE you're dreaming.

Lucidity has nothing to do with "control" (meaning that you can be in a lucid dream.. but still not be able to affect any changes) nor duration (it can lasts hours or no longer than a few seconds).

Did you ever say (or think) to yourself, "I'm dreaming" and, once having said/thought that, BELIEVED it to be true? If so, then you were definately lucid.

Next time, if you're in doubt, do a "reality check". The reality check that has never failed me is the "plug my nose and see if I can breathe" reality check. It never hurts to do your favorite reality check a couple of times or even do two different ones.. just to really convince yourself!

Sometimes your recall messes with you and makes you think that maybe you were only dreaming that you were lucid or something.

I think that this is possible, but only if you're very very very oblivious. If you ever say that you're dreaming or realize that you're dreaming you're lucid. If you were dreaming that you were lucid, you would probably catch on pretty quick that you really are dreaming.

Thank you for the responses. I faintly remember telling myself I was dreaming but I vividly remember rubbing my hands together and falling in and out of lucidity. Also another question, if I had just seen my dreamscape and fell out of it before getting in, is it possible to get back in it within seconds?

      As in woke up?

If you just woke up you could DEILD and VILD while doing it.

To DEILD you need to just stay completely still, not even opening your eyes when you wake up, and you should start feeling the vibrations of a WILD. Here's a VILD tutorial: ASHDAKSHDAK

If that is the correct definition of a DEILD then that's what I did. Thank you guys so much you don't know how happy I am that I became lucid. I will definitely be on the forums more often now that I am back into it.
