I'm trying everything, but my dreams always fade!

So I have this problem where I have tried everything suggested to prolong my LDs such as rubbing my hands, feeling an object, shouting "Increase lucidity!", etc. Now, this works, if I stay still... Like, if I suddenly realize I'm dreaming, and the dream is all blurry, and I don't move, then do one of these, the dream will become very clear. However, once I do an action or even think of doing an action, I get hit with like an extreme fatigue loss and the dream gets blurry. Basically, I feel so weak and the dream gets so blurry, that I don't even have the strength to move my body and I wake up. I have also tried spinning, but this will either wake me up or do nothing. Help is appreciated!

Around what times are you becoming Lucid? Is it early in the night, or more towards the morning when your closer to waking up like normal? I found with me, I had a bad habit of only going Lucid when I was getting ready to wake up in the morning anyway. So try becoming Lucid earlier on during the night and see if that helps.

Another thing to try, if you don't already, is a method such as WILD or MILD, where you wake up in the middle of the night and become lucid as you fall back asleep.

Also, the various methods that people post aren't the only ones. Try experimenting with your own, and see if you can come up with anything that helps to stabilize the dream.

One thing that helped with me, when I had this same problem, was to examine my own breathing. If I controlled it, it helped me stay calm and focus more of my attention on the dream itself, thus keeping it more stable.

Hm, mostly all my LDs occur after 2am. The method I mostly use is WBTB, but sometimes I get a random DILD. I want to try WILD, but it is so hard and I end up getting bored after counting to 500 but with nothing happening. Same with MILD, I just get bored repeating the same thing over and over again in my head and I just can't do it. However, I read that for a successful MILD you only need to repeat it a few times, or even once, if you say it with enough emotion in your head. Is this true?

With me, I use Auto-Suggestion, and that seems to work fairly well. Basically through-out the day at random times when I happen to think about it, I tell myself that I'm going to become lucid, and then do a Reality Check.

Usually at night, it results in some sort of Lucidity. Emotion doesn't really matter I don't think. What matters is if you can convince yourself to remember during a dream that its a dream. If you need to use extra emotion then by all means, but with me, I just tell myself normally.

With a WILD, I've only done it once successfully. However, I did find out, that the only things involved in a WILD, are staying relaxed, and keeping your mind semi-alert so that you don't fall asleep while your body does. You don't have to count either, just do whatever while trying to keep your mind awake, but not wide awake otherwise your body may react and stay awake too.
