      What's a WILD really like?

I've tried doing WILDs twice, giving up both times. Now I'm wondering if what I'm feeling is what I'm supposed to feel. When I'm paralized, I'm stiff as a board, but I can still move, it's just a lot more effort (one time I had to scratch my cheek). I also lose feeling in my whole body and it seems to "fall asleep" like when your arm falls asleep when you fall asleep on it . Is this what it's supposed to feel like?

Well you got the beggining part right, but it goes much further than that. You might see some HI and watch them, but don't get in too much of a trance or you'll lose lucidity before entering the dream. WHen you enter the dream it's feels like your whole body's shaking.Like painless electricity shoots through your whole body. Look around there's lots of topics about this that go into more deatils.

I've never gotten a HI but last time i did it, I was very close to entering a dream. I took 2 steps in the dream and got zapped back to my body.

you can experience all kinds of "hallucinations":

mild electric shocks(not really as unpleasant as it sounds )
Visuals (find yourself in another place)
      sounds (like buzzing, ringing, etc)
      Falling through ur bed
Spiraling or floating to the side or upwards.
You can hear voices, bad thing is - they can distract you and you can lose lucidity

Most common ones are just feeling of energy and sound.

If you've never experienced it, your best chance to enter WILD is breaking your REM period and quickly falling back asleep.

hmm ive tried wild a lot but i havent ever had much success and i think i only got paralyzed 1 time unless that " i dont want to move feeling" is the paralyzation because i almost always get that....
I have actually stayed in that "consious but sleeping" state for around 3 hours 1 time without seeing anything but HI and hearing a few sounds.... What am I doing wrong? should i not pay as much attention to breathing? or not stare at the HI or what? sometimes it seems like Im watching a dream in my mind, just not thru my eyes so maybe i just have to figure it out somehow....
      EDIT:
i read another wild post and got this from slimslowslider:

I"m almost sure WILD depends on brain chemistry.
Some nights it's impossible - you just fall asleep or cant fall asleep.

But when the magic night comes, you can jump from WILD to WILD having 2-4 LDs a night... :/

I havn't had a WILD that I can remember before, but I have played around with some quite vivid visualisation prior to falling asleep. For example, I'll be lying in my bed, eyes closed, thoughts wandering, and suddenly I'll realise that there is an apple in front of me in surprisingly vivid form, i.e. not a hazy thought but an actual vivid image. I then try to focus on it and for 2-3 seconds I can examine the surface of it and then it fades. My body is awake throughout the whole thing. I know that I have not fallen asleep, but I must have been very close in these cases and by the sounds of it quite close to entering a WILD.

The apple is just an example. It could obviously be anything.

Well WILDs and OBE's are close.. at times i can feel myself rising, but i never actually get out.. LD's to me (WILD ones), they usually start with the vibrations and sounds (talking, running water, jet taking off once), you may then relize your body is asleep and you cannot control it (it was scary when i used to have WILDs randomly (before i knew what it was). I usually do not get any visual until i feel i am sinking and i let myself sink.. and i open my dream eyes.

Oh well, its different for everyone.. it even varied when i was little to now.

I should mention.. some people do not experiance all of these.. i hardly ever have visual, and if i do its very late on.
