      Yeah, from my experience you have to know you are dreaming to be lucid. Recently I've had an unfortunate amount of dreams where I say I'm lucid and end up watching myself dream. Basically dreaming about being lucid.

      i like this definition. "lucid dreaming is being consciously aware of the fact that you are dreaming, while you are dreaming."

      You are still lucid. Lucid dreaming is when you are aware you are dreaming. You could be not in control and just watching actions and realize you're dreaming, thus becoming lucid. Dream control is another thing. You were lucid.

      Yes to the thread creator, you were lucid. I don't understand how there could be a simulated lucid, you realize your dreaming, and acknowledge you realized you were dreaming when you wake up, therefore, you had a lucid dream.
