      Named subconscious

Can having a named subconscious help you become lucid?

I have heard yes, if used in conjunction with another technique or when "talking to your subconsious." When I say talking I mean saying... me and Fred (subconscious) are going to remember to do reality checks tonight etc. etc.

As I said, I have HEARD yes, and tried it myself but usually forget the name pretty quick.
      Spiral out... keep going...

They're called dream guides. Find them in a lucid dream and then I guess you could talk to them if you wanted to.

I've always looked on a dream guide as any DC that is aware that I'm having a lucid dream and will interact with me in that context.

Also, I've been told by DC's now and then "You're dreaming". I'll usually look at the dream guide, while pushing my right thumb through the palm of my left hand and say, "Yea.. you're right, I am."

An interesting way to become lucid!
