      FILD: don't count...

I want to give some more effort to FILD seeing as though I got it to work ONCE.

however, I always hear the advice "dont count, whilst FILDing".

No problem understanding that....but what can I do?

Can i imagine music...or a scene whilst concentrating on my fingers so I can keep my mind of counting?

Thanks if anyone has any advice!

I've never heard anyone say "don't count". I really can't think of why not.

I usually just concentrate on my fingers without thinking of anything else.

Its also easier if you do it right after waking to "re-enter" a dream imo. I have never had any type of result using it as a replacement for any other WILD technique. I usually just give myself a hand cramp

The FILD technique is to be done passively. Don't concentrate on it directly, but acknowledge that it's there. Imagining a dream scene or something is the best thing to do.
Success comes to those who are not afraid of failing.

Hmm.... okay. Dont count.... Take it fromd me- dont count... Why? the whole point is to fall asleep? what aboult boredom? it takes 10seconds to a min at max so you cant tell me you cant keep ur mind still for that short of time. The idea is to concetrate on fingers so we can keep the dream part of the mind awake while our body falls asleep~ its a instant wild so everything should be passive with minium effort
