      FILD Help

Okay, in spite of not being sure of what to do completely, I have tried FILDing whenever I could. I just stayed awake. My main concern is how fast to move my fingers and the like.

So: Since there is no real internet metronome, I will try to relate speed...

      1. I feel it better in my head when I go "clock" speed, tick... tock... tick... tock... Very slightly, and "ticking" whenever my fingers switch directions.

(I get how you have to do this veeeery slightly, by the way)

      2. Or do you have to do a "beach waves" approach, veeeery slow....

      Or maybe somewhere in between?

Other questions to ease my mind: Do your fingers have to be touching? Would it work to do it under a pillow or even upside down under one?

I come so close, I swear, but it is being unsure of how I am doing it that makes me change speed, etc.

I mean I come really close. I am soo tired, and I feel myself drifting off... But then I just dont, and I feel myself drifting back...

(Be happy this was not a long post. I was about to use a scrolling timer, and that would have been a long post.)

      Thanks for all the help!

I don't really think it matters tbh. The finger moving is just a way to keep your mind awake as you fall asleep.

The only important thing to remember is that you don't really *move* your fingers. Just tense the muscles as if you were planning on moving them. I personally do it really rapidly, but I don't see a reason why slowly wouldn't work as well

I will try that. I haven't really tried FILD properly, just now and then. But when i have done it very slowly i find when i move one finer down the other is almost automatically pushed up, lik a rising platfrm under it or something. Usualy i think i get tired then forget to move my fingers as I fall asleep hehe.

Also, is FILD good for using after I wake up after a dream using MILD?

      I have the same problem.
Either that or I do drift off and stop moving my fingers at some point without noticing then fall asleep completely.
It doesn't seem to keep my mind aware as I fall asleep.

Anyone that does it regularly, it would help if you posted tips

PS: Also, if you DEILD, how did you get past auto-opening your eyes when you wake?

      Same here.
Both DEILD and FILD I have major problems with. So far I've been unable to do a traditional WILD either, so I switched focus to FILD and DEILD since I did a DEILD once by accident.

DEILD I always move, eyes aren't a problem. I did it once when I became lucid a split second before I woke up, so I hadn't moved yet since lucidity came and just went with the sensation of waking up. I was back in a Lucid in like 10 seconds flat, was brilliant. Haven't been able to replicate it, even coming out of a lucid since I tend to wake immediately and still don't notice I'm waking until its too late.

FILD I either stop moving my fingers and fall asleep normally, or I can't get to sleep even though I feel I'm about to when I start moving my fingers. Once I think I got close... I did FILD and then started to get some HI. But then it went away and I was wide awake again. RCed to be sure.

I never *know* when I'm about to go to sleep. One minute I'm deep breathing to calm down, the next I'm dreaming...
