It might be the doubt that's getting you down. and swallow.
I WILDed for the third time this morning, but this time intentional. This time I listened to music (through my ipod), soothing ofc. This helped me not think. It also took me around an hour, tho I only slept for 2 hours and had been up for 2 hours already. I didn't hear any music in my dream tho
Maybe just lay there and relax listening to soothing music, I'd recommend Eluvium. Once you start feeling the numbness you're getting somewhere. Followed by HI. I notice my HI goes in stages, first it's images every now and then. Then they start to pick up the frequency and then they start being 3d-ish and involve me moving around. It's just slightly hard for me to KNOW when I'm in a dream, but you'll feel it if you are.
