      Problems with getting lucid

First off, hello, it looks like a pretty nice group of people here.

I've been trying to lucid dream on and off, I'm not sure how close I am. It usually happens during short naps, or randomly afaik. I'll realize that I'm dreaming (by looking at hands, or just by the randomness) and almost right at that moment the whole dream world falls away to blackness. I can move my dream body at this point (I feel it moving, cant see anything but black. I know its in the dream because I wake up positioned exactly the same as when I went to sleep.) After about 10-30 seconds of just trying to get something to show, waving my arms around, and trying to stay in the dream, I am kicked out to reality. I dont' know what I should try to get past this point (it has happened atleast 10 times)

      any tips?

Next time, as soon as you realize that you're dreaming, calm yourself. With any luck, simply doing this will prevent the black void from ever forming. If, however, it does, don't panic. Calm yourself, close your eyes, and visualize a dreamscape. If you can, spin your dream body while doing this. That should get you back on track. Just remember not to get too exicted - that's usually the cause of the ending of a lucid dream.

If you have any other questions, please ask. Welcome to the forum!

You should watch Lucidipedia on Youtube, it touches on lucid dream hopping. What you experienced is the death of a lucid dream and you just have to remain calm and lucid and wait for the new lucid dream to form.
