      Have a NIGHT CAP!

ok, maybe this only works for me, but i encourage everyone to try it...right before i take a nap/go to bed for the night, if i have say 1 or 2 beers/drinks or a glass of wine or 2...or for all you alchy's a couple shots of tequila

when i have alcohol in my system, the dream world expands, and i remember dreams more vividly, and they are more "colorful"

again, maybe its just me, but someone give it a "shot" and get back to me

I think minor amounts of alcohol might make dreams more vivid, but to much will fuck them up because alcohol breaks of your melatonin,or you serotonin or whatever something that makes you sleep well..I dont think you will remember any dreams if you went to bed drunk as shit, same with being stoned..hehe

...i smoke 2 joints at night

hmm, alcohol is ok, but it will inhibit rem

I personally smoke a bowl before bed
THC does inhibit rem, too, however, but it actually helps you while you're coming down, which is perfect, cause no one goes into REM right away. By the time you're coming down you'll be just started to get to dreaming, so it's perfect.

I drink every night, a glass or two, sometimes even a whole bottle of wine. I've found that if I abstain for a night or two every couple of weeks that my dreaming goes through the roof.
Suspect it is because my brain is trying to catch up on REM.
Also, when you drink for a while, your brain begins to secrete chemicals that act as stimulants to counteract the depressive effects of the alcohol.
Saturday night, drank a bottle and a half between 6-11 pm.
Last night, I only had one drink before going to sleep at 9:00(yep that's right 9:00). Had a wonderful night full of dreaming.

yah i love wine so much, but im only 17, and i used to drink alcohol like water, but now its alot more relaxed than it used to, and i live in europe, so its way more available,

but yah, usually just one glass is enough to make dreams more vivid

      or as Serinath would say

When I happen to wake up and go to the bathroom after a night of hearty, but not excessive, drinking I'll usually remember some pretty wild dreams but have horrible recall. Shit drunk = Shit out of luck on remembering your dreams. You may have had awesome ones, but unless you have naturally brilliant recall abilities, good luck. As for pot, I remember alright when I smoke a bowl or two and then stay up for quite some time. But I have to sleep a long time to get good recall. If I go to bed while I'm still pretty stoned, it's doubtful I'll remember much at all. Really stoned = wake up feeling shitty and not remembering what happened all last night, much less what happened a few Earth hours ago in my dreams. Getting lucid is nearly impossible for me if I get tired from my social activities. I suggest melatonin for recall and vividity. But I've never gotten lucid while using it. I find that if I go on a binge for a while and then try to quit cold turkey, i have great recall and very creative dreams. However, I mentioned on another post that i have bad guys attacking me in like half of them. But I like fighting evil. Yay for goodness!

yah, the more alcohol, the less recall, but small amounts...as mentioned earlier, actually help me have awsome, fun dreams, with vividness, and good recall...

Recently I've smoked Salvia divinorum, and it made me have the longest dreams in my life (like 4-5 episodes joined together).... I also felt taste and weight in my dreams for the first time... But i will experiment further...

Depriving yourself of REM sleep is always a good way to make your dreams more vivid, longer, or more intense once you get back into REM sleep. I've talked to long time smokers who say they've had a plethora of dreams when they tried to quit their habit. The same should work for alcohol or any other drugs. Thinking back to something that someone else said here on these boards, try going to bed after fasting for a day... that could work, too.

      pot and salvia effect dreaming...

I used to smoke mad amounts of THC, and was always upset because the bud seemed to stop my dreaming entirely or make it very blurred and non rememorable, and since I have quit smoking completly I have been having much more fulfilling, clear dreams. THC definatly effects your REM sleep as well as dream recall, at least for me.
Salvia on the other hand I could see as promoting dreamtime as well as enhancing it. Don't do the drugs anymore though, dreams are enough for me, but would be very interested in anyone elses reaction to salvia and dreaming. let me know,
