This sounds similar to using a DJ (and reading in it before going to bed) to induce LDs. I do the DJ thing all the time and works great. And nights that I don't have time I do your SODILD. I'm not sure how you do it, but I just spend some time remembering dreams from last night and how they felt. Works really well.To answer your questions:

1) Tell me if this actually sounds like a technique at all, and not just a mental trick that will get people lucid. Yes. It has steps and it induces lucidity.
2) In your opinion, does this sound like an EFFECTIVE technique, assuming you believe it qualifies as one? Works great for me!
3) And finally, if you agreed with the previous two things, tell me: do you think I should make a tutorial on the SODILD technique? Absolutely. Newbs need all the help they can get, and since this is an easy technique to do, it probably will be very popular.
