      Watch Alarm to RC

I got into LD'ing last summer for a few weeks, and managed to have several LDs. I want to get back into it. I actually have multiply vivid dreams just about every night, and I happen to be the kind of person who just naturally wakes up multiple times every night, especially after dreams. Dream recall isn't great but I can usually remember a few things about each dream. So I am going to pick back up with the journal so I can whip the dream recall back into shape. But here is the point of this thread. I always had trouble noticing that I am dreaming to perform RCs, as I am sure most people did in the beginning. I have 3 alarms settings on my watch and i have them set for 4:00, 4:30, and 5:00. The alarm beebs but not very loudly, not enough to wake me up. But my thought is that perhaps I will be able to hear it in my dream. And I am "training" through out the day by setting a timer for every 10min or so which sounds the same. And every time I hear the alarm I RC, breather through a plugged nose for me*. Has anyone experimented with something like this?

Ahh, well, the most similir experience of that happening to me is that a member from this forum phoned me up on my mobile phone and his real name came up on my mobile phone. I didn't answer it though so I didn't get lucid. I still wonder today what he would of said.

      And welcome to Dream Views!

Well in some ways, yeah, it is. Although the Nova Dreamer uses light, as the watch RC uses vibration/sound (I think)

i just mean that they both use external cues in RL to make you lucid.

the only issue is that you have to make sure you can hear it in your dream. have you ever recalled hearing the noise in a dream even if you weren't lucid?

I usually dont wear my watch to sleep, so this is going to be a new thing. But I hear things in my dreams that are actually going on all the time. Like when the alarm clock in the next room over goes off, or a cell phone going off, or the radio. I can hear these things as part of my dream, but they dont wake me up.

I've had a few EILDs from wristwatches, mine was a vibrating watch though. If they aren't waking you up that's good. It is difficult to hear things from the real world in dreams though.

I'm actually working with this a little bit too. But I'm doing it a little differently.
I've been doing reality checks to a five minute watch timer. But I don't have it on when I'm sleeping. My intention is to just have a dream in which my watch timer goes off and I do a reality check.

I've actually had some small success with this. But nothing great to report yet. A couple close calls. And A few times I dreamed of it and did a reality check, but it was too soon after I entered the dream. So I woke up right away.

But if nothing else, it keeps me doing a lot of RC's so that I will remember to do them when I really need it.

Good Luck! And welcome to Dream Views!
