      Ended Dry Spell...

I was going through a dry spell for about 3 weeks... Last night I decided that I would combine techniques that I was creating in my head, so that maybe I could have a lucid dream... The first technique was a Thild... Threatened induced lucid dream... Although many people were against this, it worked for me. I was looking at a mirror when I got a rush of energy and punched the mirror (Not a hard punch) and said that I would feel this type of pain if I didn't lucid dream... Then when I was in my bed I tried another technique... I started to give myself mixed emotions that were very powerful... I kept most of these thoughts inside of my head... I would beg and then become desperate saying to myself that I have no choice but to lucid dream tonight... I fell asleep and I had a lucid dream! Finally... After the dream I woke up but stayed still and went right back into the dream... When I woke up from that dream I stayed still again and the technique worked for the second time... If you don't care about toying with your emotions, then I suggest that you try these techniques...

Lol, good to hear you made it through your dry spell! Whatever works I suppose, but I think for the time being I'll stick to positive reinforcement

I'm going to try both types of reinforcements... I gave myself positive reinforcements when I looked at the mirror in the morning... Everything revolves around mirrors... Hehe...

      Hey NightLife,

I'll admit, I did laugh when I read your post, but I assure it's not meant in a negative way. I've experienced the benefit of using powerful emotions to achieve lucidity, but as with Shady, I used positive reinforcement, in my case generated through vivid visualisation of what it would be like to be flying around in a LD. I hadn't even considered trying the other route, threatening my subconscious mind into submission! lol It's interesting though, and as was said, whatever works for you! It might be something to try if I start running out of ideas. I do prefer positive reinforcement though.
Great ideas are born out of an open mind, not a closed one.

Haha, I realize that my technique seems a bit ridiculous... There aren't many people here who've said that they prefer negative reinforcement...

Oh no, not at all, I don't think it's ridiculous. I think it's a less common approach to a problem. And I'm all for thinking outside the box.

Defiantly, like I said whatever gets it done . I figured out that nothing works like other people say it does, so finding out something that works for you is perfect .

my dry spell is going on a month and 3 weeks.
I took a break from LDing for a week though when I was on vacation and now I'm going to try to get a fresh start.
