Do you think it would help if...

I'm curious whether or not a dream can be 'forced' if enough thought is put into what you want to dream. For example, would it be of any benefit if I was to sit down for an hour or so before sleep and just write down every little detail of what I want to have happen in my dream (including reality checks so I can become lucid), drawing pictures of what it will look like (or finding pictures from the internet), and studying over it all before sleep so that it becomes one of the last things I'm thinking of?

If that's what it takes to lucid dream, I'm up for it.

Well if you're experienced, I guess you can have that happen.

      Yes.
      It's rather easy actually.
Just before you go to sleep think about how you want your dream to be and you will most likely just dream of it. If not then it's easy to control your dreams once you are dreaming aslong as you are lucid.

You should take it slow though, if you haven't even been lucid yet then there is no point at all trying to DC. You have a lot to learn.

If you did that, wouldn't the dream be the first of the night, meaning you are very unlikely to remember it? or would you probbably dream about the same thing throughout the night?

Also, what about autosuggestion? It would probbably be less specific, but easier. Like just keep repeating "I will dream about (whatever) and I will rememebr the dream" in your head while you fall to sleep. would that work?

Just some thoughts, correct me if I'm wrong about anything.

It sounds like what your talking about is dream incubation. And yes it is possible. Like if you watch a zombie movie before going to sleep. And then you dream your trapped in a house and zombies are trying to break in and eat you.

This is actually how Lucid Dreams are induced. You make yourself think about if you could be dreaming while in a dream. You do that by questioning your reality, and thinking about Lucid Dreaming so often, that you end up doing it in your dream, and realizing your dreaming.

      Good luck.

writing it down really helps to get it into your mind more than just thinking it, but I think writing every little detail might just ruin the lucid dream if you end up having it. Then it's like there's no spontanety, which is one thing that makes dreams so interesting in the first place
