      Dry Spell

This is getting extremely frustrating. Soon after coming here I became rather proficient at DILD'ing via reality checks, and my dream recall was magnificent. Sometimes I would even have lucid dreams multiple days in a row, and everything was going great.

However, for the past 4 weeks now I haven't had a single LD, and my dream recall has been terrible. The only cause I can think of is stress due to me graduating highschool in a few weeks, and then going to college among other things. I still perform my reality checks regularly throughout the day, but either I don't do them in dreams or I'm doing them and they are checking out like they would in reality(IE I have 5 normal fingers in my dream).

Does anyone have any advice on how to fix a dry spell?

      Have you tried auto-suggestion?

I suppose I could give it a shot, but auto-suggestion would probably work really well if it went along with something more concrete.

It's not entirely stress related. I have it too and I'm not stressed. It's due to the mind getting used to the way you implement your reality checks during the day and the subconcious shifting to 'other' concerns instead of lucid dreaming. I'm having your exact problem now and I'm refocusing and changing the way I do the reality checks to get the subconcious to refocus on lucid dreaming.

Could you explain the shifting reality checks thing a little better? because i've been having this dry spell, too, despite the fact i haven't had much stress lately, i really need to end it. Autosuggestion is not working and my dreams are getting too normal.

Hey dude, i had the same problem for a while, not even remembering one dream per week let alone per night. All i did was remeber that i have alot of time on my hands and it shouldnt matter to me when i even remebered a dream. It has seemed to work cause i have been remebering 2-4 dreams per night for the past 3 weeks, with 1 night where i couldnt remeber, but i just stayed positive.

Im having alot of strss atm because of art in school.. alot of sleepless nights and worrying spent, but as soon as i am going to sleep, i remember that its all gona be better in the long run and i go to bed peacefully, so if its stress then just take a positive outlook on life.

      hope it helped dude

      cheers
Check out my new art post

if it's not stress related, then the most you can do is just wait for something to happen. Just dont try so hard until your recall seems to improve, then try to get back into lucid dreaming after a while. It happens to most lucid dreamers, and it always passes. You just gotta be patient.

I meant that the mind will not pay so much attention to the reality check because it no longer needs adjustment and will be taken 'forgranted' eventually by the subconcious. I notice reality check routines are most effective when they are new, I did a new one in the dream just now but din't turn out too well but I did do it..because I thought of the idea just now before going back to sleep.... So the possible solution to this problem is to create a few reality check routines and rotate among them periodically.
