      WBTB/DILD difficulties?

      Hi there.

Forgive a newbie for perhaps asking a tired question, but I've been trying to WBTB for the last few days in the hope that my REM sleep will be enhanced for that last hour or two of sleep after going back to bed, such that I'll be able to enter a lucid state (I imagine this is then technically a DILD).

I've experimented with galantamine/choline as well, and it certainly enhances REM sleep—indeed, the first time I used it I dreamt that the galantamine was making me hallucinate, and of course that dream was itself hugely vivid because of the galantamine...!

Anyway, I've got the whole enhancing REM sleep thing nailed, and my dream recall's pretty good—I'm at the 'one dream a night' stage, at least. Thing is, I can't seem to get lucid. I had one, very brief, lucid dream where I was in my car and realised I was dreaming. Sure enough, I did a reality check and... Oh my god, a lucid dream! Sadly, it only lasted about twenty seconds before I awoke. Still, it means I can at least do it.

What do you all recommend at this stage? Should I try MILD or autosuggestion as well to try and force me to remember to RC while dreaming? Looking back through my dream journal I can find loads of dreamsigns, I just never notice them while I'm dreaming... Would it be wise to flick through and find some dreamsigns to focus on noticing when I next go to sleep?

      Any advice is much appreciated.

With your RC's and your dreamsigns: are you practising them during the day? Whenever (and especially the first time) you see a dreamsign, you should do a reality check.
