I thought I would share how I personally calm/focus myself for WILDing etc since there is a lot of people asking about what to concentrate on and how to stay conscious. Some people count or focus on breathing, I focus on pressure points.
I am just going to list my points, these I mentally picture and focus on each in turn or in symmetry, until they feel a little hot/tingly, similar to some mediation techniques.
It should be noted that if you are having trouble locating any points for real on your body I have noted the points (*) if they hurt with a small amount of force. Some require more than others and this is by no means a perfect list.
(S) - Points are symmetrical or have a symmetrical point
____
1. I start at the top of my head in the middle of the forehead, and focus it back through the base of my hair.
2. Eyes.*S
3. Below the ears.*S
4. Two points inside the mouth, at the back in the middle.*S
5. Just under the nose and above the lip.*
6. Two points on the upper back of the neck.*S
7. Two points just down from my neck, at the start of the collar bone (just after the knobbly bit).*S
8. On top of the shoulder just before it starts to curve down.*S
9In the center of the bicep.*S
10. Elbow joint.*S
11. 3/4 Up the forearm, on the thumb side, to the right of the two muscles that run up to your palm.*S
12. At the base of the thumb, where if you pull the thumb away from the hand the skin has to stretch, in on where the hand and arm join is. (Meta-carpals?)*S
13. In the palm, left of the thumb lining up roughly with the index finger.*S
____
Now these points all run down the center of your body singularly or symmetrically (2 arms, points are the same on each).
____
From the palm I move back up the arm points to the ones at the start of the collar bone.
14. In the center of the shoulder blades. (Back)*S
15. About 5 cm down from the collar bone starting point are another two which line up.*S
16. Sternum.*
17. End of the ribs on the far left and right of your body, just where that squish bit of skin is above the pelvis.*S
18. Where the pelvis and leg joints are. (Not really physically accessible) S
19. Outside of the thigh. (Won't hurt to touch but its where you get corked) S
20. Inside of the thigh.*S
21. Top of the kneecap. S
22. Behind the kneecap.*S
23. Above the heel, on the big toe side (inner) of the archillies tendon (big muscle that sticks out when you pull your foot up to your leg).* S
24. Underside of the foot, passed the center but before the ball of the foot slightly to the big toe (inner) side.* S
And back up again to the face.
____
Yes these do hurt someone if you hit them (most) but you touching/hitting them on yourself won't hurt yourself. Just don't do the same point for a week straight like I did
Some people may know some other points and some of these may not work on some people, but they are fairly standard. Also note that I am by no means an expert on this, most of this I learnt myself through experimentation (creepy?)
