      Binaural Beats

      http://gnaural.sourceforge.net/

Has anyone else experimented with using this to help induce lucidity?

I have been using it for a few weeks now and have had more intense dreams and even a few dilds.

My summary about what exactly binaural (bi-noral) beats does is that they lower the frequency of your brain waves from active to resting. Around 4hz is where your brain is when sleeping.

They are especially effective when performing a wbtb. I enter SP almost instantly.

I imagine something like this has been discussed before on here (everything has) I just haven't seen anything since I have been reading these boards.

The most important thing with using them is that you wear headphones. If you listen through your speakers the sound waves hit in the air. The entire point is that your brain collides the two tones mentally, the "beats" are an auditory illusion when you use headphones.

Intresting. If I didn't toss and turn so much I'd try it, but wearing headphones and my habit of tossing and turning probably wouldn't be great. Plus I tend to sleep with one side of my head on the pillow and the earphones would bother me too much.

I'll try it.. what kind of music do I use for lucid dreams? I've heard about this before (brainwave generator), people use it to calm their mind and for meditation, and for different purposes but I didn't know you could also use it while sleeping!

There are many presets for brainwave for lucid dreaming on his website. Unfortunately, his web page got hit by mass spam attacks. Most of the presets take you from a waking state, to a sleeping state like this program sounds, then provides alpha spikes?(somebody correct me if I'm wrong) to wake your mind back up and lucid dream. I personally don't use binaural beats to sleep, but I do use it for meditation. I just can't sleep with headphones on my ears. I also sleep on my side as well, so headphones really bug me. I've heard of success, though, so if you can get to SP listening to this, I strongly suggest you check out Brainwave. There are many presets you can download. I would try some preset on the opensource one as well, just to see what happens(bwgen does require registration). I tried all these, but I just can't sleep with headphones.

Sorry about writing a novel, good luck, sound like you're off to a good start!

Actually is a theta session with Alpha spike to stimulate a thing called "REM"=Rapid eye movement wich is the basys of lucid dreaming.
I strongly advise using this kind of session although not taking it fast because theta sessions have physical and mental side effects in the first month

What do you mean by "physical and mental side effects"?

I tried this last night, and to my surprise I had no problem falling asleep with headphones and music on. And I didn't turn lucid, but I had 6 dreams! Normally I only remember 3 dreams.

Which preset do you recommend for lucid dreaming tho? Theres like 100 of them.. no idea which one to pick.
