      Stupid family

the last 2 nights i have tried to WILD and after laying there for 30 min and concentrating on my breathing being totally still and calm, my sister has woken me up she just screeched and last night she randomly came into my room. anyone have any ideas to not be disturbed?

i do but youll need a screwdriver, ducttape, a hacksaw, some red pepper, bleach, butter, 37 9volt batteries, and a shovel

seriously though you should get one of those little sliding locks on ur door they cost like a dollar and tell your family that your going to bed and not to bother you and if you dont already where them get earplugs

this combination works very well for me

but the fact that i suck at wilding is kindof a downer

Can you try to explain to them why you don't want to be disturbed?

If not, maybe start bitching to your parents about insomnia or something and how awful it is to not be able to fall asleep so that they stop letting your sister disturb you after you go to sleep? I mean, technically that is not a lie.

Ah, see my mom, sister, and I have always talked about dreams and shared our dreams. When I had my first LD I was very excited to share it with my mom, and she told me she's had them every once in a while. She was very excited for me to tell her that it is possible to learn how to have them, not to just have one every 15 years or so.

Then I told my sister and it turns out she's a natural. So go figure. Even my dad, who I never talk to about dreaming, I told. He surprised me by saying that when he was a kid he had them all of the time, but doesn't anymore. He doesn't really have any interest, and my brother never remembers his dreams so I don't think he realizes how exciting LDing is!

Do whatever you think is/feels right, I guess. The outcome could surprise you!

How old is this girl anyway?

If she's young enough you can always try threats and bribes.

If I were you I would try and avoid telling her why you don't want to be disturbed this would leave her open to mock you about it and deliberately disturb you often.
Think about it... If you ever have an argument or some form of fall-out she will be more likely to want to bug you, since you have told her this tag of information which you so dearly care for she will target it!!

Just remember that no matter what anyone else says, you are gifted for being able to experience lucid dreaming... it's their loss that they don't realize what they could do! If you are feeling really embarrassed about LDing and what you've said to your family, I guess you could try to just laugh it off, although I'm not sure what you said to them already.

I wouldn't spend my time WILDing if I were you, it's a difficult thing to master. Some people can do it, but if you are like the many who have immense trouble with it, it is impractical to bring this issue (of having to deal w/ family members) upon yourself and embarrass yourself around your family when you are much better off working on other techniques to truly achieve lucidity, at least until you are much more experienced with lucid dreaming. At least that's how I would look at it.

I told some of my friends when I had my first two Ld's - they listened for a while got bored and said to stop bugging them with my dreams .
Then I told my brother he got interested then one night he slept in my room and tried to MILD. I wanted to do a WILD and he was supposed to just stay awake for 15 min and go back to sleep. I woke him up after 5 h of sleep but he could barely be awake for 15 min . Of course he didnt have a LD. So after one trie he lost interest in it. I mean he still wants to LD but he doesn't do anything about it.
Then I told my mom and she told me to not wander of to dreamland too much since I have to do other stuff in Reality .
After that I told some girls of my class and some guys of my class about that and found out that the twins of my class are naturals ^_^. And then my art teacher said that wherever i walk everybody talks about dreams
Wanna see my art? go here

Buy a bolt for your door, and put something in your ears. If earplugs are weird for you, you could get a rainstorm mp3 or a binaural beats track and some earphones to mask outside sounds, perhaps.
