      Need guidance regarding WILD-transition.

Last night I decided to attempt WILD focussing on my breathing. I suddenly could focus very well on it and was totally relaxed within a short time maybe a couple of minutes. I was on my back when SP set in. I felt the urge to Roll over onto my side so I did. I felt my legs felt crampy and stiff like they do after awakening in the morning from a deep sleep. I put some music on softly one floor below and I heard it while I was getting closer to sleep.

As I was lying there I suddenly was emerced in this short, but vivid and freaklishly realistic Dreamscene: I SUDDENLY was in my PC room 1 floor below my bedroom(where the music came from) and my mom opened the door and made a gesture that seemed to express that I was crazy playing music at that time of the night. She wasn't even in her PJs but in daytime clothes.

It was SO freakishly realistic that the first splitsecond I was immediately fooled and tended to engage the situation as if it were real, but then I realised "Wait I was in bed falling asleep, this is a Dream!" I tried to calm myself down but the Dream was allready fading into black motionfull hypnagogia. I was hoping new dream images would form soon, but was swept away soon thereafter in unconscious sleep.

Now I am confident I can consciously reach that pre-dreamstate again, but what to do in such a situation? What to do in order to Recognise it as the DreamState and enter it and how to not make it fade away, but hold that image? Where do you successfull WILDers suggest I go from here?

There are numerous WILD techniques out there, the technique I use (and have great success with) is using visualization and imagining movements. As I sink into hypnagogia, I visualize what I want to dream, say a forest (which I tend to do). As I form this mental image in my head, it turns into HI, then into a dream. I also often visualize looking at my hands. I can also imagine myself doing something like walking, or flying. Eventually, I start feeling myself actually doing these movements, as the dream scene forms around me.

Even though these techniques work for me, I have no idea if they will work for you. It could be worth a try.

It happens, I think you were just a little unlucky, I had a similar problem last night when just as I realised I was dreaming, I had a feeling that someone was in my bedroom and opened my eyes. I guess the rational mind just sometimes lets you down.

It wasn't that I awoke. No I stayed in that blissfull state right between sleeping and waking for perhaps another 3 minutes, watching very dynamic hypnagogia and loosing consciousness soon thereafter. The problem was that as soon as I became aware of the situation being a Dream it faded back to black.

Perhaps you've got some suggestions as to what to do if I encounter such a Pre-dream again in order to make it stay and not fade away again?
