I think your subconsciously getting excited. Its adrenaline and you cant stop it. Naturally it will go away once you are more used to the sensations. |

I always have the same problem when I try to WILD. I find that everything goes smooth until I am far into my wild. Then when I think I am close my heart starts pounding. It not neccesarily fast, just I can feel it and it almost painful. It is terribly annoying and distracting and makesit impossible for me to wild. This problem does not come from me getting excited. Whenever it happens I totally relax and think simple soothing thoughts such as canoeing in a lake or whatever. But the problem does not go away. I am usually in a physical state where I can feel my body but just barely. Moving my fingers is possible but feels doubly as difficult. My breathing is in control and I do the counting thing to relax. I just can't seem to make the pounding go away. Any comments and help would be appreciated! Thanks. |

I get the exact same thing, as soon as I realise I'm about to enter a dream, whenever im at the verge of loosing awareness and suddenly I realise whats going on and become fully consience. I think its a mixture of panic and excitement, I find if I get too excited I end up waking myself up so be careful and try to stay calm. |

The people above nailed it pretty well. Most people have this problem especially early on in their LD 'career'. From what I can tell the simplest explanation I can give you is that quite frankly your excited. You know somethings about to happen; and you can't wait. All the possibilities race through your mind because you are finally achieving success! Also usually when your in that frame of mind anything remotely out of the ordinary will stand out because your basically on the lookout for "Whats different". |

This used to happen to me quite often; it turns out that it was mostly in my head. By focusing on something else, it quickly dissipates, for myself at least. |

That darn heart. I was doing a WBTB today and had a HI about the sun. It was getting closer to me and suddenly I hear a loud explosion. Normally I just see HI, not hear sound, so that got my heart pounding like crazy. Needless to say, I failed |

thanks for the good advice everyone. You were all correct about me just being excited. I made a third attempt to WILD and this time I didn't have the problem because I had gotten used to it. However, later on in this attempt I experienced a new stage in which my body felt like it was spinning very fast, and of course my heart started pounding again from excitement. I guess I'll just have to get used to this stage now. Thanks for your help! And I'm glad there are others out there that appreciate Crysis what a great game. |
